There are many players playing in the NHL who have never played major junior A. Go figure. Hey Superdave if there are so many just wondering if you can name 5 current NHL players who were playing Jr A at age 18 or 19.

My point is most kids playing a lower level of junior hockey at the age of 18 are never making it to the pros unless they are purely goons only one of these castoffs you guys have invited to camp indicated he was playing tier two to keep his US scholarship hopes alive.. the poster who made the claim about many NHL'ers never playing major junior a seemed to be implying it was a common ocurrence

Well I am impressed. Not only were Billy & Catnut able to quickly name 6 but also high profile players.
Just out of curiousity (and because it is too cold and wet to golf) I checked out TSN's bio on the players mentioned. Here is what they had listed for the players mentioned.
Joseph, Belfour & Landon all played one year of Jr A hockey at age 19.
Brindamour & Kariya played two years at age 15 & 16 before moving onto the college route.
St. Louis played one year at age 16 before playing in college.
I was thinking of Gomez but he only played a year at age 16 and then moved onto the WHL. Any other high profile players that people can think of?

Kariya and St Louis were not playing tier two junior as 18 year olds.... so Billy didn't actually answer the question at all I didn't look up Brind'Amour but i'm assuming he was likely only playing tier two as a 17 year old as well so we have Langdon
