I would think Smith is a very long shot ... he would be a 19 year old rookie next season ... the only way he is on the team is if he has a monster camp and manages to beat one or more of our returning forwards out of a roster spot... If he wanted to be a fighter ... he could have a spot ... because he can take a 4th line shift. Somehow I can't invision Brad Smith a fighter.

He fought once for us this year that I recall and did well ... vs PEI maybe ... SJ ? If he muscled up ... which he should do some naturally ... he might be a decent fighter ... he has great size for it.

And if he doesn't pan out, we keep their 1st round pick. Plus we have to ship out Sniderman, Emanuale and Lincout (we keep if Marquardt goes pro) who all had a strong playoffs. We should get good return on them. They'll be older, stronger, faster and smarter. Cats should be in great shape next season. What happend to Brandon Greenside and Dan Boyle?? Will they be in camp next season? I know Boyle had a severe knee injury but what about Greenside?

The key addidtions/substractions for next year might be mostly in the 20 year olds and Euros.
Brannon should be a nice addition to the top 2 lines, I can see him with Mangan and Marquardt or Eagles. Keep the 3 L's together as they have a nice mix of size speed and skill, all 3 should improve 25-30% with a year under their belt as well as being more advanced physically. Cameron MacLellan Brenton Marquardt or Eagles or a Euro can form your other line.
Ideally your 20 year olds should be Mangan Marquardt plus a veteran d-man(Andricopoulos?).
Lincourt and Sniderman should get something in return, how much will depend on the market.
Add 2 skilled 18 year old Euros, one forward and one d-man.
The wild card will be in the FA and NCAA guys drafted.(Hayes Cross Sill Danis-Pepin Strait)
Not much is left over from the 2006 draft except Lamoureux who should make it next year as he can add size and toughness. Guys like Whelan Greenside Boyle Croft Lewis Watson Rousseau Archambault.

Your offense might be decent, depending on how the guys develop with the extra year. And a fresh goalie taking over the number 1 spot....... You look a bit like Bathurst this year to start the season, without a Beauregard and Perreault on the roster...........a weak defense, and an unproven goalie........Bathurst finished 12th overall with the big 2 on the roster.....Moncton should finish anywhere from 14th to 18th with that roster............you better hope for some very good Euros next year.

You know I like Mangan sure but an impact 20? I think there might be others that will come cheap. Also, I was surprised in the game with Halifax how much I missed Lincourt when he was suspended. I've never been totally happy with his play but we were missing something when he wasn't there.

There are FIVE 19 year olds and SIX 20 year olds in the 11 you mention, so they'll actually only have at most 8 of those in their line up next year. Five 19 year olds and Three 20 year olds is pretty average.

I think you'll see one of the 19 year old d-men moved...either Tolles Goyens or Ouskun...right now Ouskun is the best of the 3 but Tolles looked good late in the year.

IMO, Morehouse should be kept as a 20 yrs old ahead of all the others. I know, if you compare him to Marquardt, he is not as productive, but Marquardt doesn't make his teammates better. Having Morehouse in the lineup gives the team energy and elevates the play of all the others. He has good leadership and should probably be captain next year.

Energy players are nice, but Morehouse is not worth a potential 50 goal scorer...or a PPGM guy like Mangan. The 3rd spot should be a top 4 d-man to play with Barberio Ouskun Pianosi(+ possibly a Euro).

Keeping Morehouse and trading Marquardt or Mangan is better then keeping Marquardt and Mangan and losing Morehouse for almost nothing. Morehouse brings alot more then what you can receive in a trade. EDIT: If we're as bad as Porker says we'll be(I don't disagree) the big number 61 won't have to worry about showing up for the playoffs
