LEFT WING 10 Pierre-Marc Lessard AGE=18 26 Matthew Brenton AGE=18 28 Chris Morehouse AGE=20 61 Matt Marquardt AGE=20
CENTERS 17 Randy Cameron AGE=18 15 Jason Lepage AGE=19 36 Matt Eagles AGE=19 77 Phil Mangan AGE=20
GOALTENDING 29 Nicola Riopel AGE=18 35 Jhase Sniderman AGE=20
Plus you add the fact we have draft picks (including a 1st) plus the possibility of Scott Brannon (57 9 23 32) coming over from Cape Breton as part of the Bourdon deal. And if he doesn't pan out, we keep their 1st round pick.
Plus we have to ship out Sniderman, Emanuale and Lincout (we keep if Marquardt goes pro) who all had a strong playoffs. We should get good return on them.
They'll be older, stronger, faster and smarter. Cats should be in great shape next season.

We are in great shape next year. With the experience all these young guys got this year, along with the 7 playoff games under their belt .. they should be even better next year. My guess for 20 year olds would be Mangan, Marquardt and Lincourt. There's a chance that Marquardt could go pro, but honestly I don't see that happening. He still has a lot of work to do to get to the next level. Our starting goalie will be Riopel and he got lots of work and experience in this year, playing 35 games. I can't remember the last time we had a 19 year old goalie here and a rookie goalie here and they split the games. I am also excited to see what the "L Line" will do next year and the next year after even. They were by far our one of our best lines, well most consistent. Yes, the season ended maybe too soon, but the future looks bright.

I would keep Chris Morehouse over Lincourt even though you can't compare their talent.
With Morehouse's work ethic and the fact he is the heart of the team. Remember when they trade Salvis? As soon as he was gone the team was downhill.
Nolan kept Hepditch around for his heart and leadership even though he had a shot at more talented forwards like Chris Bourque.
Linquourt had a great series but his work ethic has been in question at times.
It's a tough call but I would keep Chris.

I may be wrong on this, but wasn't Salvis just released, not traded? That was the year Caron had left the team and decided to come back and they ditched Salvis?

I can't see keeping Morehouse, they have a ton of returning forwards, they need a 20 d-man. Mangan and Marquardt are no brainers. Nolan never had a shot at Bourque, they assigned him to the AHL...and he was 19 so it had nothing to do with Hepditch.

I think Nick Emmanuele would be worth keeping...He played really well last night... He can be a soild player, if they put him in a leadership position....

We are losing a lot of leadership in Gaudet and MacDonald ... IMO it would be a big mistake not to keep Morehouse - he should be the captain next year ... I know that other guys seem better on paper, but I think he is a glue guy that makes it tick ... we are already losing Gaudet ... I think they will find room for Morehouse.
If we could get a Mathieu Roy type return on Marquardt at the draft (i.e. good 18 year old a la Dany Masse) - would you consider it?

My picks as of now for the 20s next season;Morehouse Emmanuel after last nigths perfformance and Marquardt but he ll be traded at Xmas time.Lincour is out and Mangan s work ethic is questionable too but willing to give him ashot at the early stages next season.Goyen s a keeper in my mind!

Emanuele had a very strong playoffs and I think he should definitely be given a chance to make the team next season. However, I could also see the Cats possibly trading for a defenceman and also drafting one in the Euro draft. Assuming the Euro works out and also with the quality of our other 20 year olds it's going to be a longshot for Emanuele to make the cut, but he should certainly be given a shot.

He took a stupid penality and got demoted to the 4th line for 3 of 4 periods. Goyens played one of his better games last night, the problenm is that recently he's had 3 bad ones for every good one. Ouskun is clearly ahead of him because of his skating.

Goyen's is not a contender in my mind...He makes alot of rookie mistakes...And I find he panics when the puck hits his stick.... Morehouse is a strong player, with a really good work ethic, but he is not a leader...Maybe in the dressing room, but not on the ice.. Mangan would be a keeper, as well as Marrquart if he returns. Lincour I find is lazy and could easly be replaced...

From what I'm hearing
They're doubtfull that Marquardt will be back.
Mangan is a shoe in.
They are having a tough time deciding what to do with Sniderman since he'll be one of the best goalies in the league next year.
They'll see what return they can get for Lincourt
Emanuale will be given a fair shot.
Morehouse is no wheres as skillfull as the overs but hes a good leading. Kind of the glue of the team.
So Emanual's and Mosehouses future depends on what they do with Sniderman.
As for the 20 years olds. Gaudet has a few offers from the East Coast league and europe. U de M want him bad but he is unlikely to go. His girlfriend is already gone to ottawa for school so he has nothing holding him down.
Its possible that the Islanders move MacDonald to the AHL team for the playoffs as well.
