From what I'm hearing They're doubtfull that Marquardt will be back. Mangan is a shoe in. They are having a tough time deciding what to do with Sniderman since he'll be one of the best goalies in the league next year. They'll see what return they can get for Lincourt Emanuale will be given a fair shot. Morehouse is no wheres as skillfull as the overs but hes a good leading. Kind of the glue of the team. So Emanual's and Mosehouses future depends on what they do with Sniderman. As for the 20 years olds. Gaudet has a few offers from the East Coast league and europe. U de M want him bad but he is unlikely to go. His girlfriend is already gone to ottawa for school so he has nothing holding him down. Its possible that the Islanders move MacDonald to the AHL team for the playoffs as well. Are you the one that did all the type-setting for the banners we won last year ?

I think the only thing that may work in our favor is that we seem to have a good rapport with Columbus. Pinneault, Dupuis and Marqhardt. I don't know if Marqhardt is ready for the AHL yet. Plus he still gets to be taught under an NHL coach.

I just hope management will be smart and do their homework in preparing for the European draft. With Bathurst's dismal regular season we have decent positioning, the resources are there so there's no excuse for not getting impact players like we used to.

My picks as of now for the 20s next season;Morehouse Emmanuel after last nigths perfformance and Marquardt but he ll be traded at Xmas time.Lincour is out and Mangan s work ethic is questionable too but willing to give him ashot at the early stages next season.Goyen s a keeper in my mind! 1-Picking 20 year olds based on one game would not be a very smart thing to do. 2-How the hell would Morehouse be a 20 next year based on last night? He took a stupid penality and got demoted to the 4th line for 3 of 4 periods. Maybe I'm getting your tone wrong here but how can you say that picking 20 year olds based on one game would not be smart and then go back and say that you wouldn't pick Morehouse because of his performance last night?...Did I miss the sarcasm here or was that a big contradiction? I agree with mbas about Morehouse, he's really the heart of the team- it's hard to picture them without him

Goal J-C Blanchard Ryan Mior?(if he can bounce back from his poor playoff performance)

Goyen's is not a contender in my mind...He makes alot of rookie mistakes...And I find he panics when the puck hits his stick.... Morehouse is a strong player, with a really good work ethic, but he is not a leader...Maybe in the dressing room, but not on the ice.. Mangan would be a keeper, as well as Marrquart if he returns. Lincour I find is lazy and could easly be replaced... Don't know what you have against Goyens. Not a rookie by the way. Makes the first pass, and actually contrary to what you say is composed with the puck.He seemed to play more and more physical and use his size which this D squad is lacking. Speaking of rookie he was on the ice with the over played and over exposed #44. Not the offensive defenseman of the future. Emmanuele should get major props from the coaches, after the acquisition of Goyens and Barberio he spent some time in the stands. He reacted like a season vet and played his tail off in the playoffs. Moorehouse probably more trouble then he is worth, for a non-fighter he spends way too much time in the box. #8 is lazy, but when he plays he can really turn it on. I think all in all, the Cats deserve a lot of credit, and should be lots of fun to watch over the next couple of years.

Good post. But I disagree about Goyens...he is very slow both moving the puck and moving in general,he does at times seem like a reliable defensman but like somebody said earlier for every solid game he plays he plays 3 bad ones. Emanuelle was pretty impressive in the playoffs but the fact still remains that he's a #5-6 d-man......put him higher and he gets exposed.Unless his leadership skills are unbelievable I don't see a #5 dman sticking on the team as a 20 yr old. It's hard to leave Lincourt out of the equation, the team has a lack of skilled players and losing him would only further the weakness....but his "work ethic" is pretty questionable. I guess none of this really matters though until we find out how good the euro draft goes and which americans(if any)show up.

I guess none of this really matters though until we find out how good the euro draft goes and which americans(if any)show up. I agree. Regarding foot speed, Goyens sometimes looks like he would have trouble keeping up in a beer league. Maybe with a bit of conditioning, he can improve on that. As for 20s, Marquardt (if he's back, which I think he will be), Mangan, and a D-Man from somewhere. Lincourt could also be considered if we decide to go with 3 forwards, but a 20 YO D-Man would be a good fit with our young defensive corps, if one is available. Give Morehouse and Emanuelle a shot at camp (unless they can be moved at the draft), but I think they are the odd men out. I know in Morehouse's case, it's a tough call considering what he brings to the table. As for Sniderman, I heard he had an offer to play in Europe and was headed over there. If not, hopefully he can be moved at the draft.
