It doesn't get much better in sports then when you have a sudden death game in a playoff series that sends one team packing to get to the next opponent and one team packing to go home to try again another year. The Cats have exceeded most expectations since the puck first dropped at training camp last August...and they continue to do so. Few predicted there would be a game 7 after the game 5 loss at home. The players have said that they hope we all wear white on Tuesday and that we all cheer, and cheer and cheer to the final buzzer. Let's rally the troops, dust off the white shirt(s) and do our part to bury the moose.

It would of been good to see you guys bring back the $2 playoff t-shirts but a little late for that now I suppose. Oh well, GO CATS GO!

Why bother? The Cats didnt win for the city or the fans...they won for your rich owner....
Head coach John Torchetti said his team “showed true character and grit” and dedicated the victory to Wildcats owner Robert Irving. “I thought we owed that to our owner, going back (to Moncton Coliseum) for Game 7,” Torchetti said. “We’ve got an owner that just treats this team like gold and I felt he deserved a Game 7.”

And you have an owner who bought a place for his son to play and has damaged a once excellent franchise.
Robert Irving rescued this team and turned it from a laughing stock in to one of the premier CHL franchises. He wears his heart on his sleeve for this team and this city and when his players put out 100% for him they are doing it for the city as well.
The Moose have shown their capacity for folding like a cheap tent because they play without heart. On paper, especially on offense, Halifax should have taken this series last nite or sooner. They didnt and the best you can do is a sour grapes post like this? Sad.

That would be the only way you would see everyone wearing white. I am a little surprised to see the Cats haven't really had anything like that this year. The past few years, they would sell tshirts (whether it be the white ones with the players name on the back, or the simple white ones just saying "Wildcats Playoffs 2005? or those red ones stating how we were "Rabid Fans") The only thing they've done is the rally towels, mind you that's good, but I thought someone in the promo department would come up with something once again. I find these playoffs don't feel like the playoffs.. there's just something different about the atmosphere and maybe that's got something to do with it.

You're a Moosehead fan aren't you? What possible interest could you have in who OUR team dedicates a game to? Here in Moncton saying 'Thank You' isn't considered to be bad manners or carry any conspiratorial undertones.

I just think its very cheesy and lame to say that a team representing the city of Moncton and many fans that they would dedicate the game to the team owner. Its kind of like saying "screw the fans, we played for the name on the back of the jersey instead of the logo on the front."

Even when Halifax has lost the 3 games in this series they didnt roll over and fold like a cheap tent like you say. In the past 2 games Moncton has had 9 Dangerous Shots... Problem is Smoke and Mirrors were healthy scratches in game 5 where as they were in the lineup in game 6. Sour Grapes?? Nope...not at all...like I said, i just find it funny how Torchetti would dedicate the game to 1 guy instead of the entire fan base or the city. PS...Moncton finished 4th, Halifax 14th...so dont bring up the whole "on paper Halifax should have won in 6 card"

Hey Lala....I think it's just a case of the Wildcats thanking Mr. Irving for everything with their third win and will thank all their fans after game 4 ....... just after the Mooseheads have stormed off the ice into the dressing room.
You mentioned that Moncton only had 9 dangerous shots in the last two games......we won one of those games and lost one....same as Halifax. In your opinion how many shots should we have had? If we had many more this series would already be over. ;D

I for one am super excited for Game 7...I bought tickets this morning. I agree that they should have had something to go with the Rally Towels...I think they need to have help getting the crowd into it...Maybe getting the cheerleaders from the local Highschools to help or someting..I just don't think Furball and Richard get the crowd going!!! Even if we are down goals. The crowd needs to keep the players spirts up...

Lala, you see many times in professional sports players / coaches stating they wanted to win a championship for the owner. All you need to do is look at the Detroit Red Wings, constant praise by the players / coaches for Mike Illich because he is a great owner.
You're trying to make this into a big deal, it really isn't. Torchetti doesn't owe me anything so I don't feel "slighted" by his comment. Although it would've been a great quote "We really owed this to Dirty Afanasenkov, he's been to all the games and was pretty down after game 5." **note to Neil Hodge, you have my permission to use this quote.**
I see nothing wrong with "dedicating" a game to a team owner, I believe it shows a sense of pride in being part of the team. After a very rough outing where let's face it, the Cats were embarrased, they regroup and played for pride, pride of the organization and redeem themselves and the logo on the front of the jersey.

Tell your marketing department to stop wasting their time with cheesy music videos and get some butts in the seats for Tuesday night. I have yet to see a single sign up in town advertising game 7 or the Cats playoffs ... plaster Main Street - Game 7, Tuesday, 7:30 ... thundersticks for everyone ... and please, no more "making it work". Now, lets go shoot us a moose ... ;D

I thought that would be one of the reasons people would be going to game 7, besides the actual game itself!!! I agree though!!! Play a video clip thats more intense... I remember in halifax... they always played part of a movie with Govner Arnold and he was all camouflaged up and was holding a gun... and played Welcome to the Jungle.... and that got the crowd into it....

I agree, Dispense with “making it work” as it was quite silly and as well, get that useless DJ who can’t pronounce correctly to tone it down. The fans will get into a seventh and deciding game without that shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!
