"We really owed this to Dirty Afanasenkov, he's been to all the games and was pretty down after game 5." I can't help but think what a great poster that would make. ;D

Why bother? The Cats didnt win for the city or the fans...they won for your rich owner.... Head coach John Torchetti said his team “showed true character and grit” and dedicated the victory to Wildcats owner Robert Irving. “I thought we owed that to our owner, going back (to Moncton Coliseum) for Game 7,” Torchetti said. “We’ve got an owner that just treats this team like gold and I felt he deserved a Game 7.” I expect more from you then a cheap s**t disturbing post. As for the 4th - 14th position you as well as everyone else knows that that position is due to over achieving at the beginning of the year. They then played relatively solid hockey (except for a few bad stints) that maintained the position they got themselves into. You have 5 players playing in the "Q" for the first time and throw in the possible top 5 pick in the NHL draft compared to Moncton who has 13 players playing in the "Q" for the first time. All I can say is you you can't beat us this year you won't beat us for the next few years, if you can't beat a team that has nearly half the team made up of players that spent last year in Midget AAA then you're going to have a long road a head of you.

So if Halifax wins game seven 5-4 in double-OT, then they will be fine, but if they lose 5-4 in double-OT, then they won't be able to beat Moncton for the next few years? Look at the returning players for both teams, the only thing Moncton has that's stronger is goaltending.

LOL blah blah blah...you guys still finished 4th and Halifax 14th...I dont care how many rookies you have and how many top 5 NHL picks Halifax has. Bottomline is, this series was lopsided on paper....and not in favor of Halifax. Why is it that Moncton posters want their team to play that underdog role? Last I checked youre the home team for game 7...

Adding good Euros and maybe one of the NCAA guys could improve Moncton next year.

Underdog s all year..............Cats were! Only if you were playing Lewiston, Cape Breton or Val-D'or. Nope - go back and read anyone's pre-season predictions ... the Cats were predicted to be last or close to it ... All season long, everyone said we were not as good as our record and place in the standings ... Before this series started, most neutral observers were picking the Moose to win, based on the Cats late season slide ... Now some Moose fans are trying to deflect the pressure and/or fear of losing by trying to say the Cats were favoured all along ... I am not buying it, and I doubt the players are either ... we have been underdogs all year - win or lose, we will be on Tuesday night as well.

My contention is that we have less experience this year both mentally as well as physically and it showed down the stretch That discrepancy will be less next year as those players adjust in the off season with conditioning, growth, etc., and a better understanding of what it takes to play at this level over such a long schedule. The fact is that it's so close this year doesn't bode well for a team (Halifax) that has a significant number of more experienced players. The difference a year will make between those veterans will not be as great as with rookies and thus the advantage being that the teams right now are somewhat even.

Sure, maybe if the exact same players were playing next year. But Moncton has to improve enough to offset the losses of MacDonald, Welton, Gaudet, Morehouse, Sniderman, and Emanuele (assuming Marquardt, Mangan, Lincourt are 20s), while Halifax only has to improve enough to offset the losses of Cote, Seymour, and Pouliot (assuming Swan, Pridham, Peters are 20s).

Dude, you finished 4th overall in the QMJHL...i dont give a rats ass where you guys were predicted to finish. Bottomline is, Cats fans wanna have their cake and eat it too. They want home ice for game 7 but they also want to play the underdog card.

NO im not saying Halifax sucks, but like I said in my reply above...Cats fans wanna have their cake and eat it too. You cant play the underdog card when youre playing AT HOME for game 7. Moncton is not the underdog.

A 1st round win would be more frosting on top.
