WOW WOW WOW Brad Smith can fight. Fought with Alex Grant. Give the decision to Smith for busting open Grant. Other than that it was even. Lots of bombs connected though. Awesome fight. Good to see some toughness.

All in all very impressive. Cameron, Brenton, Eagles, Samson, stand out in my mind but, Riopel stole the show. Not sure who the stars were but, should be Riopel #1, Cameron and Eagles split the other two or maybe even Brenton. Anybody know why Spencer warmed the bench a lot. Thought he would get a little more time than he did. Nice to see Boyle show some muscle, to bad his opponent was a chicken. Marquardt looked tired which he should be. Lessard looks like he's a hunter for the big hits. It's a good start. Only the first game. I hope Bathurst has some firepower missing from the line up, otherwise Hodge's predictions are going to be a little off.

I noticed in Hodge's predictions today that when he broke down Cape Breton he didn't have any mention of James Shepard. is he still in CB or traded or what? Anybody know?

Obviously if you are going with the same type of website then update the downloads. Maybe have some contests to win free wildcat gear. Trivia and stuff that can be found on the website. A daily blog would be really cool. A link to this website would be great. Updated whereabouts of previous players. up to date next day photos of at least home games if not all games. Video highlights. That would be a good start.

The line of Labelle, Lesard and Lepage was really really impressive. Brenton was my favorite player on the ice. Was very feisty and made some nice plays. Seems like he sees the ice good. Belanger looked pretty serious. A. MacDonald needs to shoot. Scored on his only shot. Says something. All in all I'm very excited for this year knowing what we have for 2 years down the road. Will be fun to see these guys grow. Randy Cameron showed a lot of promise. Chad Dunhlop seemed more interested in playing hockey rather than being a tough guy. Has a wicked shot. Can't wait for the next game.

Not sure on anybody else's opinion but, I'd like to know what people think about our offensive firepower or lack of. Are we gonna score goals this year with what we have now seeing a lot of goals are leaving the team from last year. Who do you think will be our first line. The biggest player I am curious about is Moorehouse. I think he can really step up his game and be a very good offensive threat.

I tried to get a concrete answer today on the Whelton Belanger issue I talked about and I got this trown at me, don't be surprised to see Whelton and Belanger go to Val D'or in turn Moncton keeps Marchand and then in turn Val D'or trades Whelton and Belanger away to a third party. Makes sense but wil it happen? ? we'll have to see. Is Marchand worth more than those two. In some people's eyse yes and some no. Depends on the deal Val D'or has to trade them away. Maybe the third party really wants one or both of them and is willing to give Val D'or something that is worth Marchand. I think this would be a blessing in disguise for the Wildcats.

Oh ya I forgot to respond about Whelton. He and Belanger will not play for the cats this season. I can't see it happening. Spencer will play for the Cats!

From what I heard there is a loop hole somewhere that Marchand can stay with Moncton. Where he has not reported to Val D'or they can nulify the deal and provide other compensation or something. I'll try to find out the details. I do know for sure that they are trying to keep him.
