Just wondering who we can expect to see in the lineup tonight? I am looking forward to seeing Dunlop (If he plays as physical as the T&T says), Lepage, Lessard, and the Euros. It will be good to see Riopel out there as well. This will be an entertaining year IMO.

Riopel will not be dress for tonights game he pulled a groin but maybe will be in lewis tomorow so expect to see blouin, sniderman in net If he pulled a groin I doubt they'll play him for a few weeks to allow it to heal well ... Riopel has his spot sewn up so there is no need to rush him back. Besides ... let the other two get ample time to battle for the other spot. I'd give them each a full game of these first two ... no splitting it unless somebody needs to be yanked.

Good game overall by the cats. I missed a little bit (got in just in time to see Lewiston's 2nd goal), but here are my thoughts.
-First, what a blow to Bélanger if his injury is serious, which wouldn't suprise me since they needed a doctor in the dressing room and it didn't look too good when he was heading there.
-Good game from Blouin. Shaky at the start (2 goals on 2 shots), but he came back very well, not letting the opposing players in front of the net get in his way. Read the game very well.
-Alexi Pianosi was a little weak on the puck, but seems to have good vision. Needs to bulk up though.
-My favorite performance tonight, Pierre-Marc Lessard. That guy was always in movement, I saw him direct the powerplay during Faubert's penalty (just before he took one himself). Has a good size and is willing to go to the front of the net. Needs to practice on improving the strenght of his shot though.
-Did not notice Martikainen more then that. Kinda disapointed a little, but hey, he'll adjust.

Well, seems weird to be watching hockey already...
In any event some guys looked good and a few were meh, not many stunk up the joint luckily.
Blouin - started this game the way he left off last year... started the 2nd period with a 000 save percentage. Basically having the same camp as he did last year.
Sniderman - did a great job of sitting on the bench.
A. MacDonald - got a shot off in a hurry. typical Macdonald, steady.
Pianosi - didn't seem put himself out of position as much or try and do too much. Tried the back door sneak on the PP just missing the puck.
Boyle - didn't notice him too much, steady.
Grant - see Boyle.
Emanuele - terrible first period, put himself out of position too many times looking for the hit. Settled down in the 2nd and 3rd. "tangled" with Denny after Denny hit Lepage "from behind"
Belanger - "fought" Mathieu, steady. Went off with his ankle immobilized.
Croft - Did he play?
Rupert - took a period or so to get going, played with Igor and Gaudet.
Gaudet - typical Gaudet game.
Voroshilov - showed some good moves.
Lessard/Labelle/Lepage - the LeLaLe line ;D Pretty solid game by this trio. Seeing these 3 shows that we have talent ready to step up.
Lamoureux - Didn't notice him too much.
Dunlop - doesn't have great skating ability. But JESUS what a shot.
Brenton - like this kid! reminds me a lot of Eagles. Oddly enough he was wearing #36
MacLellan - didn't notice him too much. seems to have some speed.
Samson - typical Samson.
Cameron - Seemed solid.

The line of Labelle, Lesard and Lepage was really really impressive. Brenton was my favorite player on the ice. Was very feisty and made some nice plays. Seems like he sees the ice good. Belanger looked pretty serious. A. MacDonald needs to shoot. Scored on his only shot. Says something. All in all I'm very excited for this year knowing what we have for 2 years down the road. Will be fun to see these guys grow. Randy Cameron showed a lot of promise. Chad Dunhlop seemed more interested in playing hockey rather than being a tough guy. Has a wicked shot. Can't wait for the next game.

Sniderman - did a great job of sitting on the bench. You are so fortunate to have your #1 guy in mid season form all ready

Pianosi is 5'8" 195lbs, I don't think he should be any bulkier. I agree on Blouin, though I don't think he saw the Denny shot, the MacDonald goal was also through a screen. I thought Martikanen had a few flashes. Both guys are 17 so i think their adjustment will be a bit longer like Karsums 3 years ago. One thing that both impressed me with is they were strong on the puck and did not shy away from contact. Martikannen is more physical, while Voroshilov will have to get used to finishing his checks. I think both guys can reasonably produce 40-50 points.

Alright here my take (again)
Blouin - Its going to be Sniderman and Riopel no matter how good or bad he does.
Pianosi - Very steady
Boyle - I didn't think he looked good in practice but I thought he was very strong in this game. Him and Pianosi are as good as any team have.
Grant - see Boyle. Also I'm starting to see what Billy is seeing.
Emanuele - I would sooner see a younger growing player in a rebuilding year. His shot is weak as is his checking.
Voroshilov and Martikainen - great Euro choices. Some real promise here.
Lessard/Labelle/Lepage - Labelle was very strong and Lessard wasn't as impressive as he is in practice but was steady.
Dunlop - doesn't have great skating ability. But JESUS what a shot. I was suprised that they didn't play him more.
Brenton - Yeah I agree with poster here he's very Eagles like but I think maybe faster. He going to be very interesting to watch.
Cameron - The second goal was largely his fault as he wasn't able to contain a player at the blue line and wasn't able to keep up with what turned in an initial breakaway that then lead to the goal. But that was only one instance. The guy behind me said Blouin in disgust but he was at the time screened by what seemed like 6 players so you got to cut him some slack.
As far as the last year players went, they showed us why they went as far as they did.

I agree that the Lepage Lessard Labelle were very good tonight. They were the cats best line and generated things with their speed and puck movement. Lessard looked a lot better than in intersquad, he was moving his feet and finishing his checks.
Pianosi was as expected, young QB type, very skilled with the puck, sometimes dangerous without it, that will come with coaching.
Boyle is the guy that won a lot of points with me, he looked solid at both ends, he does everything well and plays with his head in the game.
Grant also kept up the good work from intersquad, though he didn't get as much time after Belanger left.
Emanuelle tried to do too much in my opinion. He needs to relax and let the game come to him, the tools are all there.
Cameron looked pretty good also, he has good offensive tools and created chances for his wingers.
Dunlop looked like his skating was very painful, but he has a missile of a shot and sees the ice well.
