Well it's what we've been waiting for since the Memorial Cup final. Should be a good game. I can't wait to see how our young team can fair in a regular season game vs. 4000-5000 people as oppose to the 1000 people at the exhibition games.
Predictions:
Wildcats 5-3 (en)
Riopel with the start and the win.

Riopel was not on the ice at Monday's practice when I picked up my season tickets ... Blouin was even though he had been cut two days before ... I'm assuming that Riopel is still suffereing from his groin injury and they are hanging onto Blouin as the spare. Sniderman will get the start ... its his star anyways being the veteran.

Looking forward to tonights game. Hopefully we get a good crowd to get the season started. I just want to see some of what we saw in the two last pre season games. Speed and a little bit of elbow grease. Get the season started on the right foot. But I am sure Bathurst will come out flying after we beat them in both pre seson games. But now they count.
Go Cats Go!!!

I gave them away at lunch though, oh well. As for the goaltending situation, as long as it's not Blouin I'll be happy.

I know it won't be nearly that kind of atmosphere but it would be good to show the rookies what kind of fans they have behind them.

I don't know about "dresebving" it. (That could almost go in the btitan top 25 if it was him saying it. I'm flaggerbasted!)
With a new coaching staff, I doubt they will take it into consideration.
Quick question, who got the start in the opener for Cape Breton last year?
Pavelec did, even though Davenport was been there the year before.

Quick question, who got the start in the opener for Cape Breton last year? Pavelec did, even though Davenport was been there the year before. There are 2 big reasons that Sniderman should start ahead of Riopel 1-because they are rasing the banner that he helped win(Sniderman) last year 2-because it would be putting instant pressure on Riopel unofficially anointing him as #1 this early in the year. I'd prefer for him to keep working his butt off everyday to prove he deserves the #1 job. Less pressure and a more motivated Riopel. Also it would show little confidence in Sniderman throwing the rookie in there with a 19 year old returnee on the bench. If Blouin was the other goalie, this would not be the same.

You are usually right about hockey.....blah...blah...blah.....but in the case of Riopel and Bikerboy's comments about him I'd be very inclined to go with Bikerboy. We'll see in about 2 hours won't we?
