"the 2 goals AMac let in, what about the other 2 he let in during the 2nd and 3rd period.
AMac was a huge liability tonight.
With all the new defence we are signing, and they are playing well, me thinks changes are coming.... and after tonight..... soon!

Oh, and did anyone else notice how terrible we were at getting into a shooting position on the PP? Lots of missed opportunities for point shots. On the flipside, I also wish our forwards would pressure the D-men more on the PK. We collapse way too quickly.

I will probably take some lumps for this but here goes. I don't agree with the goaltending change to start the third (assuming there was no injury). Granted Riopel looked bad on the 5th goal but sometimes u gotta stay with the kid to show some confidence. Sniderman came in and gave up 3 goals on 8 shots..not exactly the game saver he wanted.

Yes but Sniderman came in after sitting on his butt for an hour and a half or so following warm-up. Not an easy task for him to come in like that.

Just more reason not to do it. But give him his due, he got the job done in the shootout. Question: Can you change your goalie for the shootout?

Actually, unlike in the movie The Mighty Ducks you cannot change your goalie in the middle of a shootout.

My question was actually for the start of the shootout. Anyone know the definitive answer?

Did anyone see why Denny didn't play for the last 8 minutes of the 3rd plus OT? He fired a pass long on a PP (Lessard penalty) that went for icing, and went to the bench right after and didn't play again.

He fired a pass long on a PP (Lessard penalty) that went for icing, and went to the bench right after and didn't play again. He was on the ice for Moncton's 7th goal. On his way off the ice, he punched the glass near the bench quite hard. He could have possibly injured his hand, or perhaps he just got benched following that goal.

What a crazy game that was!! But I'm not going to whine and complain about it being ugly because quite frankly I found it be a thoroughly entertaining night at the Coliseum. Not going to see a game like that in a long time. I'll just make a few points about the game: - Riopel certainly didn't have his best game, especially that 5th goal which was just plain awful. Did anyone else notice that it looked like he didn't know what to with the puck everytime he handled it behind the net? I still wasn't really a fan of him being pulled though as I believed they should have showed some confidence in him and let him stick it out. Sniderman didn't really do any better as he looked completely lost out there, out of position, and wasn't seeing the puck well at all. But he still came up with a huge save in OT and managed the shut the door in the shootout. - You know what I think the problem on the PK is? We are WAY too passive to be effective, just sitting back and letting the other team work the puck around until the puck is in the net. I've noticed that the other teams are always putting lots of pressure on us on the PP and it causes turnovers. - Voroshilov...dumb penalty near the end of the 2nd period but other than that I thought he played a pretty good game. He was working hard along the boards, going to the net, and was rewarded with a goal. Congrats to him on his 1st in the Q!! - Dave Crossman was having a hard time with the puck in the offensive zone, but I think we can chalk that up to not being used to the bad ice at the Coliseum. Other than a bad decision to go for a hit that led to a Lewiston 2-on-1 in the second period I thought he played pretty well defensively. He was blocking shots all over the place, probably realizing that the goalies would have had a hard time stopping a beach ball tonight lol. The fact that he was out on the PK in OT speaks for itself. There's probably other points I wanted to make, but my head is still spinning over the crazyness that took place tonight. I predict that Sec.21critic is going to come on and point out that last time we won 9-8 at home it was against Rimouski and it was the night that AJ Howe had a hat trick. Wouldn't it have been weird if Phil Mangan played tonight and netted a hat trick? Probably would have been a bad omen if anything. But it was another Ontario boy, Matt Marquardt with the hat trick for the Cats tonight!! Jr.A bum, right Score?
