I think we failed to mention in this post, that it was 5-1 after the first period, which had about 30 seconds of even strenght hockey. I think Bathurst scored 3 pp goals out those 5. In the 2nd and 3rd, we outscored Bathurst 2-1. So all in all, we didn't prvide much offense in the entire game, but in the last 2 periods, we sure held our own and minimized their chances of scoring. 5-1 after the first ... and 2-1 for us for the 2nd and 3rd ... hmmmmmm ... was the score 6-3 ? I think its new math... the stuff they teach to all the kids nowadays.

Funny.....the paper says that Riopel played the entire game for us, as does the press release......If it was Riopel in nets he must have borrowed all of Blouin's gear....mask included. It was definately Blouin in goal for us. He had all the Val d'Or gear on not to mention his helmet had his name painted on it.
Blouin didn't get much help from the rest of the team. He looked like he wasn't ready for this game.

The guy with the green pads has been Riopel all week.

By the score, I thought it was the dynamic duo of Awalt & Brulotte! Kidding aside, poor Riopel, like having 6 goals scored on him wasn't enough for his first Q game, the Q has 7 GA recorded on their website. Seems like the info is as accurate as it is always during pre-season!

Well....I guess I stand corrected. I thought for sure it was Blouin in goal......I could have swore I saw Blouin's name on the helmet......
Doesn't matter I suppose. Regardless, Moncton didn't do much to help their goalie.
It's very early and I am not panicking...we'll ice a decent team.

Back to the fights ... yesterday on your board you claimed that Morier was a legitimate Top 10 guy ... well he just slipped to 11 because Spencer pummelled him and past him ... and Morier never returned to the game. Morier is a punk fighter who doesn't have the balls to square off with a guy ... but rather jumps them to catch them by surprise ... he did that to Spencer last night and to Francis last year in an early season game. Morier doesn't deserve any ranking as a fighter until he has the couarge to face someone without jumping them. Its sad that he is all you have. He tried that last year with Cormier though and one punch later had to be picked up off the ice and was in the stands with a broken face 2 or 3 months. chsb was on Moosetalk claiming moirer was a heavyweight contender earlier in the summer! Now that claim was amusing.

Riopel has the long pads with yellow in the them...oh and he ahs "Nick" on the back of his mask...unless Blouin's nickname is "Nick" it was definitely Riopel.

Is it time for our Wildcats to sell the farm? We looked terrible last night, how will we compete in the MemCup if we cannot beat the team that finished last two seasons in a row

The team will surely get worse when Blanchard, Graham, Marchand, Yandle, Karsums, et al, start skating with the team..... Thank you for enlightening the rest of us with your widsom......

This really doesn't deserve ANY replies. Don't let the fact that we still have about 15 cuts remaining and most of those guys who will be cut played last night. I hope this was a poor attempt at shit disturbing.

You're right, let's cut Penner Gardiner Ouskun Mazerolle Ouimet etc and give guys like Blanchard Yandle Welton Bartulis Graham Goulet Marchand Pineault etc a shot. You're genius!

I agree with Nolan's comments in today's paper about all the penalty calls in the first period. That was pathetic and I was saying in the first intermission that it's a good thing they did away with the two line pass call and added the touch up offside rule because with all the penalties that were being called it slowed the game down something terrible.
I know that Mills was likely trying to show who's boss in the first and keep things under control but come on! I paid to see a hockey game not the referee blowing his whistle all period. I know the new rules state that they are going to call the obstruction calls even more this year but it really slowed the pace of the game in that first period.
Mills must of realized that he had somewhere to be at the end of the game and for the most part let the teams play during the second and third period so the game would not end at 11pm.
