Does anyone know for sure if Martins Karsums is even going to be able to play this year? The last I read said something about his ankle surgery being less than a total success. If that's the case and they schedule more surgery he may not be in any condition to play this year.

Some aging, often bloody wrestler, suggested cutting him loose last year cause he's so injury prone, and was attacked, relentlessly, for even thinking the thought. That 4 sec shift, the last game of the year was the last straw. Are you telling me he couldn't have figured out in warm-up he couldn't play one full shift? That was damn disappointing, not the cunning motivational move on the part of the Cats as many have suggested.

I like what Karsums has done for us when he was healthy, but how many times can you roll the dice with his fragile body? This is not necessarily Nolan's problem to fix, this decisdion should have happened at the end of last year, and our Euro draft choice used. It would have been interesting to see who showed up at training camp, with really nothing to lose.

He's one of my favorite players without question. The question is though, how healthy is he? How healthy is he likely to stay? Is the ankle going to recover enough for him to even play? These are some valid questions Billy. Does anyone know about his recovery for sure?

Karsums had ONE serious injury that had complications and took time to heal in the years he's been here, you make him sound like Benoit Brunet. i have yet to hear from any credible source that he will any of the regular season.

any word on the score for 2nite Yes ... just got the word ... Titan will win 5-3 ... icing a much more fine tuned lineup than we do. No point in even going now that we know.

Except for a 1 G and perhaps 1-2 D's, I take it that the Aug.29 list is what we'll see for a while and until the players start returning from pro camps.
Forwards that are attending pro camps: Karsums, Goulet, Pineault and Graham - leaving 13 F's.
Defencemen that are attending pro camps or injured: Bartulis, Yandle, Adam and Bélanger ?? (haven't heard about Bélanger for a while, so I don't know the status) - leaving 8-9 D's (depending on Bélanger).
School starts next week here, I assume it's the same in Québec, so we should see what happens with Riopel/Blouin by next weekend if not before.

With Riopel playing full 60 min in both or the first 2 games, I think the Cats just want him to get more experience before sending him down as school starts, I think you'll see Blouin and Blanchard split the next 4 games.
