Riopel must be the most patient person in the world. Someone calll his name so he can just get out of his seat in Colombus

If I was a parent, I wouldn't want my son attending the draft unless he was a sure thing to go in the top four rounds, because after that, anything can happen.

Well, riopel hasn't been picked. It must be very dissapointing to be sitting there and waiting for your name to be called and they don't call you. Oh well all I can say is to put a lot of work in it this year and be drafted higher next year. After all Gretzkey was never drafted!

Congrats to Cameron!
Surely a disapointment for Riopel. Looking at the drafted goalies, 20 in total, only Lafleur was chosen from the Q. There were another five from elsewhere in the CHL and three from Canadian Jr.A leagues. I guess this wasn't a "goalie factory" year for the Q or for the CHL in general!
Overall, the Q had 25 players drafted (I counted quickly) out of 211, approx. 12%.

riopel isn't the only one. there were a few notable guys who didn't get picked:
david stich roman bashkirov jeff desjardins jonathan carrier rafael d'orso
it's gotta be tough not to get picked, especially if you're in attendance, but riopel should know the draft is just a number. ask josh tordjman. he's 3rd in line for the coyotes right now and moving up quickly after signing a free agent contract just one year ago.

I didn't see Scott Brannon's name there either. That was a bit of a surprise.

He didn't have a brutlal playoff, the team did in front of him. I didn't see any bad goals and a goalie shouldn't be expected to steal the game every night.

He didn't even steal a period in the playoffs ... he was below average and played worse in the playoffs than he had all year. I don't know what you watched ... but if Moncton had just average goaltending they would have won that series in 6. All Riopel had to do was play better than Yetman ... but he couldn't.

OMG...another undrafted goalie...very disappointing for the young fella. I thought for sure he'd get selected.
Assuming he can handle being #1 this year, he'll still have plenty of opportunities IMO.
