i am guessing this is reaction to torchetti moving on... wonder if they will just hand the job to martino or pursue someone new. nothing said about martino leaving aswell but he was torchetti's guy. EDIT: btw, link www.moncton-wildcats.com/en-ca/team/article.php?id=70

Candidates...Doug MacLean, Gerard Gallant, Claude Julien i know doug maclean has some ties to the team and is a relatively local guy (from the island), but is he really coaching material? i would expect julien to find an NHL job before next season, and i doubt he would be interested in the Q, but you never know i guess. wasn't there some talk before about jodoin wanting out after this season? maybe RKI will throw some bucks at him.

I am not really surprised by this at all. What he did with this team speaks volumes about his abilities. Wish it wasn't so but those are the risks you take having an NHL coach in the Q. Good Luck Torchetti!!

Hopefully they don't hire a 3rd fly by nighter trying to get back in the spotlight.

Hopefully they don't hire a 3rd fly by nighter trying to get back in the spotlight. Yeah, god knows fans won't put up with 3 straight years of overachieving.

At least they seem to want to have the coach in place by the draft this year. Not like last season where it wasn't until quite a bit after the draft.

I'm just suggesting that this time around they should look for somebody that may stick for a few years....a complete turnover of coaching staff year after year has to take it's toll eventually.
I don't think its a completly out to lunch theory?

What good is coaching staff stability if you're dealing with a Larue or Vincent?
As long as the coaches commit to stay for the whole season and help out with preparing for the drafts, I don't see any major problems with having different high-end coaches every year.

That probably why he delegated Martino to go to Europe for the U-18 Championships last month.
Hopefully, they are ready for the draft and euro draft and that the new guy will be able to bring out the same intensity in the players.
