Heard a rumor that Chris Bourque may sign a pro contract once the lock out ends, not sure how big the possibility is but the source is a good one. That would leave a big hole up front and makes the Bourret non-trade look even bigger.

Now you are starting to realize....

Bourque turning pro has been a possibilty from the get go. The Cats will have to cross that bridge if they come to it. No sense in getting all worked up until we see what happens.

The way your team looks like glorified Jr.A squad you better hope Bourque isn't coming.

Bourque coming has nothing to do with my team... i'd just find it rather fitting and terribly amusing if he did in fact sign an AHL deal and your prize transaction blew up in Irving's face
my team was a glorified junior A team last year.. we'll be much better this season.. no worries

Last year it was a strength this year we have a top pick.. no reason to believe we won't land a sniper I don't think offense will be as big a problem as you and the naysayers think.. may drop off 10-15 goals but that will be offset by improved defense and more games against weak opposition what does any of this have to do with Chris Bourque playing in Portland?

There is no loss to us if he doesn't show ... only a gain if he shows. He has never been a guarantee to show ... only a possibility. If he shows its like getting a freebie ... without him we'll have to acquire impact players the normal way ... trades. We also drafted Brian McGuirk in the 13th round the year before Bourque ... another high end American playing NCAA ... no expectation he'll ever report but its better to gamble in the 13th than pick a local kid out of Midget. You guys drafted Jeff Caron the same way ... decided to toss a 15th round pick to get his rights ... no loss if he doesn't report ... but worth the gamble. Now Caron may actually report to Saint John (who knows) ... no big loss to you guys ... but maybe a little extra effort from Savard could have landed him ... who knows.

You still have not shown how you will replace 83 goals lost...Stewart had 23 last year, I doubt the improvement in your young players adds up to anything close to 63. As far as Euros, apart from Trukhno, you guys have not drafted much in the last 5 years...Hruska Korpinen Makela Polcik Macek Havikari Persson...none of them have been top players...so Trukhno makes it about 1 in 8...not very good odds.
