Apparently, Maxime Lincourt has been traded to the Moncton Wildcats. In return, the Val-d'Or Foreurs get this year's 5th round pick, and next year's 3rd. Apparently, he has been playing on the Foreur's 4th line for the past couple of games. Source : www.webdiffuseur.qc.ca/sports.aspThoughts?

Seems kinda expensive but then again, that's why I'm not a GM.

I wonder if he'll (Lincourt) be in the lineup tonight. It would be nice to actually have enough forwards to have four full lines.

Well lets see, this would be his 4th year in the league, after two with the Quebec Remparts and one in Rimouski last year, where he got 66 points in 67 games, playing for what is arguably one of the worst teams in Q history (still less then Plattsburg, I know). This year, he has 17 goals and 17 assists for 34 points in 42 games with Val-d'Or. However, he is 19 years old... I don't quite understand it fully, although he's a good bet I'm sure to return as a 20 next year. Replacement to Mardquart? Could he be leaving with the Eagles tonight? From what I've read untill now, Val-d'Or fans seemed pretty disapointed with this guy. Apparently was playing nothing like the previous year and one message read "We better trade him while he's still worth something". His work ethic seems to be the thing put in question.

If his work ethic is what's holding him back then great. I have full confidence in Torchetti to light up his ass and get him going.

yes maybe but you got to put that if this guy was used on second and third line and then goes to val dor and his on the 3 or 4 line because they have to much talent for him can affect the player it self .......

I wonder if he'll (Lincourt) be in the lineup tonight. It would be nice to actually have enough forwards to have four full lines. I think it's possible. The way the Foreurs fans are talking about it (lhjmq.net), he knew well in advance what team he was going to be traded to, so he might have taken the plane already to get here, which might mean he'll play tonight. It's a lot of supositions though. The trade isn't even confirmed by the league yet on their website, though that should just be a formality.

Of course fans in Val can say ' we're a little dissapointed in him'. Look at what else they have to look at on the team. Marchand, Samson, Letang, Roy.. Letang may not have more points, but his work ethic on the ice alone, and cpt. of team canada can pump a guys tires for the fans as well.
Change in scene for Lincourt could be good. He wont be burried below piles of talent on the cats like he was in Val. So your opinion on him on the ice could be different from the opinion of a Foreus fan.

licourt is one of those guys who you see one night and think wow, then you see him another night and think that he's useless. if torchetti can get him more focused than you may have done pretty good in this trade, if not he's still going to be ok for you.

It was his own fault that he got buried behind all that talent. He was brought in to play with all of that talent. He was brought in to be a sniper on the Roy and Marchand line. But he got lazy and played like shit and played his way down to the fourth line.

I'm trying to figure out of they got him to help ease the loss of 2-3 veterans being moved(plus he can return as a pretty good 20), or if everybody is basically staying and they want to stay in the race.

That's the million dollar question, isn't it? I figured the first deal would be a good indication of all the others...but the Lincourt one is not that earth shattering, although I would say there is more of a chance at "going for it" or standing pat than selling looking at that deal.
