Pounding "legit tough guys" is not even close to fighting with the big boys in the NHL........Charlie Bergeron is a legit tough guy in the Q, but I don't think he could beat half of the heavys in the league. Bergeron is a middleweight in the Q, he doesn't even drop with guys like Cormier, bad example. Good example actually.........Bergeron would be in the same class as Saunders when it comes to toughness.

Bergeron has never fought the top guys like Cormier Doyle Bonneau Starenky at any point in his career, Saunders did.

That don't make him any more tough......that just makes him stupid........Wantulok ragdolled Saunders up here one night and Wanty was never more than an average shitdisturber.

I showed you where he fought all the top guys and your only response was that he was stupid...sounds like you lost this argument.

Actually Saunders was a pretty good fighter....I will give credit where due. In the last 2 years he was here he barely lost any fights....not because he would pummel guys but he managed to tie most guys up so they couldn't do much damage and would end up in a draw most of the time....the only time I saw him get pummeled bad was at the metro center vs Cormier where he DID actually open up for once...bad move,Cormier landed several heavy blows including a huge left leaving Saunders in la-la land on his ass. But except for that I can't remember any other one-sided fights against him.

He never beat any of them though.......that's the point.......he was stupid enough to drop with Tremblay and got his ass handed to him.........did that make him tough or stupid?..........reminds me a bit of Brett Gallant.....all heart and no sense.

Bonneau was a very good heavy...and if I remember correctly he faired pretty well vs your holly god Tremblay(except for the time he turtled) ... he faired well vs Cormier everytime they fought......and had several good bouts with George Davis. I think most fight fans would agree he was a top 5 fighter the last 2 years he was here.....pretty good for a flop If Saunders,Bonneau etc... weren't good heavyweights, who in your mind was ?

Bonneau was a very good heavy... he faired well vs Cormier everytime they fought......and had several good bouts with George Davis. Not every time, Cormier beat him good and knocked him down in one of the fights in Halifax. Didn't last long but Bonneau got tuned. And he only fought George Davis once and it was an uneventful hugfest in Halifax. But Bonneau was easily the #2 guy behind Cormier in his last year in Junior and he followed that up with a solid season in the ECHL last year where a lot of guys who follow that league had him top five.

I would say that Denny is the toughest guy on the Maineiacs team except for Manson and Bergeron hit him pretty good. All the names listed above are from the nostalgic past. The new reality is that guys like Bergeron are very good at playing a regular shift and shit disturbing while able to face any actual opponents. This is the type of player the GMs now want on their respective teams.
