I think he is getting the invite simply because he is a local kid in San Jose. Yes, I suspect he is ... he may be one of the first locally developed kids to make it as far as he has, so I suspect the Sharks are inviting him as much out of a token of support for local minor kockey than anything else. I am not sure about the Yetman comparisons, I only saw him play as a 20 year old, so I don't know what he looked like at 17 and 18 ... but Watson does appear to have certain raw offensive talent ... seems to have a knack for being in the right spot to make things happen offensively. He is going to be in tough to make the team IMO - we are in a logjam at forward, and I am really surprised nothing was done to try and resolve some of this in the offseason. Right now I see him around 15 or 16 on our depth chart - so the pressure is on for him to have a big camp. The following guys I see as locks up front who will almost certainly be on the team: Cameron, Labelle, Lessard, Brannon, Bezak, Brown and Sill. Seven guys right there ... then figure two if not three of Morehouse, Mangan, Marquardt and Lincourt are going to be on the team. If any of Samuels-Thomas, MacAusland or Hayes were to commit they would be locks as well. Eagles is pretty much a lock, although I could see him being trade bait if someone else beats him out of a spot. MacLellan, Lepage, Brenton and Watson are returning vets battling for a spot, along with Lamoureux, Frazee, etc... Are you sure that Sill's is on the team? The other guys I see for sure but Sill's from what's been said is a Gaudet type player. If that's the case then I expect a bigger guy with a great heart but not a goal scorer. If I think Marcus could be a goal scorer than I would definitely give him the nod. Your right, it is going to be a log jam for sure and it will be one of the most exciting training camps I've seen. If Sill's is a lock then i'm expecting a 30 goal scorer. I'm hoping that is the case.

His leadership was second to none in the Q ... probably the best Captain (perhaps tied with Hudgin) we've had ... one of the very best in the faceoff circle ... excellent PK guy who would sacrifice his body without a second thought... and he gave you everything he had every shift. His offense wasn't great but he chipped in with timely goals ... nothing pretty but always resulting from hard work ... I appreciated his forecheck that created turnovers leading to goals more than his own goals. He is the only Wildcat Captain to raise the Prez Cup. A local boy that has been an excellent role model and a pleasure to watch night after night ... and he is an excellent student. And to top it all off ... all that comes from spending a 11th round pick on him. His parents raised a fine young man. Are you saying we couldn't find a spot for another kid like that ?

Here's a little piecon Jordan Samuels Thomas. www.wardhockeyschools.com/Also got this little blurb from Power Shack Hockey.com Jordan Samuels-Thomas will make his debut for Power Shack this summer. Jordan was seen at the 1990 Yankee Conference Festival in Connecticut. Jordan wore number 11 on the Green team. Jordan impressed many scouts as well as the selection committee which picked him to represent Team New England this year. Jordan is a big string winger who battles hard in the corners and in front of the net. Jordan won every battle in the corners and on more than one occasion battled two opposing players and still came out with the puck. Jordan has the potential, determination and frame to be a big time player. Jordan is a solid player who l finishes his checks and plays hard each and every shift. Jordan has a tendency to make opposing defenseman look over their shoulder when going into the corners. Jordan is a very effective passer and can finish as well as set up his line mates. Jordan will add another dimension on this very talented team.

Seems it was written by a parent of one of the kids.

He was wearing no. 11 not #11 on the depth chart. I know that ... makes it a mickey mouse scouting report by saying something as if adds value

Sorry I mis read what you were saying. I got excited about actually proving you wrong for a change. I will have to keep working on it. As for the report I am just trying to get something going on the boards. There is nothing going on anywhere. No specualtions, no more word on MacAusland and nothing on a few of our other US players.

With all the effort they have gone to in the past year to land him I would be surprised if they turn around and cut him ... he was good enough at 18 to dress for UMaine, one of the top NCAA schools ... then was playoff MVP in the MJAHL ... in my mind, he is pretty much a lock to be our third line centre this year.

"He was seen at the 1990 Yankee Conference Festival" How old is this Jordan Samuels-Thomas? How old was he when he was scouted?
