One More Fog Devil With NHL Ties Graduating Overager Lands Invite to Rookie Camp
The St. John’s Fog Devils are proud to announce that a former member of the club has landed an invitation to an NHL rookie camp. Tim Spencer, a bruising left winger from Carnduff, Saskatchewan, who played a single season for St. John’s, was invited to St. Louis Blues rookie camp set to commence in the first week of September.
Spencer, 20, enjoyed career highs in games played (67), goals (8), assists (15), points (23), and penalty minutes (150) in 2006-07, his only season in St. John’s. Credited as one of the toughest players in the QMJHL, he is also seen as a player with potential as a leader, confirmed after he was named an alternate captain with the Fog Devils almost immediately upon being acquired.
His only other season in the QMJHL was spent with Moncton, where he amassed 14 points and 140 penalty minutes in 64 games, on the way to helping the Wildcats capture the 2006 President’s Cup.
