Does anyone want to adjust their projected lineups assuming we get MacAusland and the 2 euros? Americans are best guess.

Why would we assume we're getting MacAusland? Did I miss a scoop by Neil Hodge or something?

Why would we assume we're getting MacAusland? Did I miss a scoop by Neil Hodge or something? They are working on a proposal to submit to th MacAusland family consultant. Sounds like if Irving is willing to throw enough money his way, there is a strong possibility that he may show up. This was mentioned by Neil Hodge last week. I guess we will find out within the next six weeks or so.

OK, good to know the door hasn't completely closed on the possibility of MacAusland showing up. Perhaps I should be reading the T & T now and again....
As for the Euros, I think we can pretty much bank of them being here. I think it's safe to say we (like most teams) drafted players with a deal worked out in advance.

Rumour coming from Radoter has Ouksun headed to R-N in return of the 5th round pick traded at the euro draft. radoter.com/viewtopic.php?t=55107&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=30To bad if it's true Ouksun was definitely one of my favorites even though he's not the most flashy player I really liked what he brought to the table....looks like Goyens and Emmanuelle's chance of sticking with the team are getting better by the minute .....could be a scary bad season on the backend regardless of what happens with the Ouksun rumour. On a side note R-N should make some noise this year, espescially if they can add another solid d-man and a #1 goalie I could see them being the top contender....I know up front with Carpentier,Dubuc and Riendeau entering their 19yo season and Macenauer,Desjardins being 18 yo's up front they should be well rounded. Nice to see the smaller market teams staying competitive sometimes

If we cannot add a skilled vetran why not keep a solid D man. I thought he played very well when he played. Did not make too many mistakes and played physical. I would not be scared to start the season with him on D. Goyens I am nervous about. We gave up a couple of decent picks and he hasn't shown me very much to get excited about yet. But another year and hopefully a good workout schedule and he will be a different player.

Losing Ouskun does not bother me. He has limited skill, is caught out of position a lot and is not physical enough. Add to this we have younger guys at the same skill level or higher coming in its a no brainer somebody would be moving.
Getting a 5th (well, technically Baca if its our 5th coming back to us...) for Ouskun IMO is very fair. And honestly, more than what I thought the market value for him would be.
It would not surprise me to see Tolles or Goyens on the way out as well if they get outworked by younger guys.

Although losing Ouskun would usually not be a big concern to me, I would rather have him on the team then not have him, specially considering the lack of depth we have a defence.
Having said that, if that was the price to pay to get the European player they wanted, then there's no more to it. He will certainly be able to help Rouyn-Noranda, as he will mainly be a depth guy, probably 2nd pairing. Good trade for both teams really.
As far as Goyens goes, I haven't given up on him yet. He needs some polishing quick, but when he's on his game, he's one heck of a player. He's not afraid to rough it up or drop the gloves and he's got a relatively good vision in the offensive zone. His problem is just consistency, and considering the defence that this team is going to have, I believe inconsistency is just one problem that they'll have to deal with.
So we've got 3 big questions for next years' team:
1. Who will be the team's overagers? 2. Who will stick on defence? 3. Who will the backup goaltender be?
Anyone?

I'd rather see Emanuele on the team than Sniderman (nothing against Sniderman, it's a numbers game). And if Marquardt is gone, don't you think he'd bring a nice 17 or 18 yo d-man in return?

It's going to be tough to predict who makes it. Just looking at the guys that will be garanteed to be at camp. Imagine if Hayes, Cross or MacAusland show up as well.

Have Samuels-Thomas and Dimitruk actually BEEN confirmed... I didn't recall seeing that but could've easily missed it.

Sometimes, I can't remember if something is true because I actually read it someplace, or if I've just kept seeing the same rumours repeated over and over again on this board until they seem true.

Coach Flynn is meeting with Samuels-Thomas in New York this week sometime.
Dimitruk is coming to Moncton in the middle of July to visit the City and tour the Wildcats facilities.
We are still waiting word from the MacAusland's family representative in regards to an offer to the Wildcats to meet.
