Cats pick at 1:50 and 5:50 unless they make a trade to improve their draft position.
I am hoping they will pick at least one Dman which has become our main weakness with the departure of MacDonald and Welton.

Any links to pre-draft rankings? Be nice to take a look at the available players...

Saint John has got to be due for a good year, they have had the first round picks in everything for the last three years. Time to ice a decent team up there in Stink town.

So far, no team has picked defencemen. Hopefully the Cats can land a good one with the 21st pick.

Took this from canbeer's post on Moosetalk which came from Wuest's blog in the Daily News: 3D. Vladimir Roth, D, 6-1, 187, Slavia Praha (Cze-Jr), 13-4-5-9-8. Roth is an offensive defenceman who can run a power play. ISS says he has “good size” and is a “decent skater,” “makes a good first pass” and has a “hard shot.” He’s eligible for the 2008 NHL draft. . Radim Ostrcil, D, 6-0, 194, Vsetin (Cze-Jr), 25-8-13-21-69. Ostrcil also played 37 games in the Czech Elite League this season. ISS describes him as a “smart defenceman” at both ends of the rink who is “good on the power play” and has “good speed.” One of these 2 would fit perfectly. If they are still around at 21 which I doubt.

Best case scenario for the Cats is to get one of those 2(even if they need to use a pick or 20 to move up) and then draft a guy that's already drafted(18 or 19) who can make an impact right away like Tulupov did in Chicoutimi and Tezikov Oduya Horacek did here.

Are you sure he's playing Qmjhl this season? That would eliminate the possibily for them to acquire a 20yo d-man though as Swan and Pridham should be "locks"to be there next year I would think.

Yeah Phoenix did not sign him and he went undrafted on the weekend. Halifax has a conditional deal in place.

After 10 picks, 8 of them are Czechs or Slovaks, no Russians. 3 of the last 4 are d-men but Roth and Ostrcil are still there.
Edit. Roth just went to London at #11.
