Moncton has as follows:
first round: picks 15, 17 second round: pick 35 third round: pick 51 4,5, and 6th rounds : none 7th round: 123,125 8th round:127,141 9th round: 159 10th round: 177 11th round:195 12th round: 213
There could be more picks aquired in trades but this is where it stands as of now.
Also don't forget that if the rumor is true we return the 17th overall pick to CB for Scott Brannon

I would assume that the Sea Dogs really want Anthony but will take Despres if they can't get him to commit. But they also may be interested in trading the no.1 pick. What would it take from the Cats and would it be worth our while "IF" we could get Anthony to commit to the Cats??

If the Seadogs are willing to deal the pick, the Cats should look at getting it and maybe one other first round pick, three top picks would allow the team to build for a solid future., I would take Despres or even LeBlanc ahead of Anthony, who will be pretty good, but not as great as some think, I think Duffy will be the real deal next year though. As for players I would trade to acuire picks, any 20 yr olds not named Marquardt or Mangan, I think we need these two guys this year, also I would deal Eagles, Goyens, Lepage, Lessard, Brenton, Maclellan, Ouskun, and maybe a few others in the right deal. The Cats could also look to sweetn deals by throwing in some ncaa guys, Sill(mjahl), Heffernan, Pepin, Strait, or Cross, if some team felt they could convince them to report, the only one from ncaa I would keep is Hayes, I think he will be with Cats this year and will help out quite a bit.

Sill is supposedly comming this season unless a decent NCAA deal comes along. He will hopefully help out in the leadership dept. Now seeing as he plays like Gaudet and Hepditch would it not be a smart move to maybe trade him and keep Maclellan if the rumours of Sill copmming are true? Do we need both as they will both be 19 this season.

I'm not sure they keep Maclellan and Sill, we have a lot of similar players, Brenton etc. I have a feeling the Cats are going to make some noise at the draft and with trades, I can see Jimmy Hayes, 2 good euros and 2 or maybe 3 top draft picks being acquired. I hear they may shop Eagles for a pick. Not sure who else they will deal, but they will surprise some people with the high end players they nab this year, maybe Despres, Macausland, Leblanc or a goalies as well Bellevance-Roy.

I say the Cats keep MacLellan. As an 18 year old FA last year, he did better then some of our drafted rookies ie. Cameron, Labelle, Lessard, Brenton, etc. I wouldnt be surprised if he is an assistant captain for this upcoming season.
I can see us drafting a goalie in the first 5 rounds but not early enough to take Bellevance. He will be a 1st round pick. Wouldnt mind the Wildcats pickin up Kirk Rafuse from Truro Junior A or even Jake Allen from Fredericton.

This may be my ignorance but seeing as how Riopel is only going to be 18 this year why would we draft a goalie in the first 5 rounds?? We should be trying to get some more depth that was depleted from the Mem Cup run. Not saying you will get superstar quality but it would make more sense to draft a goalie in the first three rounds next year so he would have a year or two under Riopel.

I agree, I don't think a goalie is high on the list for this year - maybe get one of the better 17 year olds in the 6th round, someone who can compete for the backup job, with a couple of 18/19 year old FAs, behind Riopel. Next year, draft the goalie of the future with our first round pick.

This morning's T & T mentions that Jimmy Hayes is a possibility for this coming season ... I think this is the first time I see him mentioned as a possibility accept as message board fodder ... it was unclear whether it was just Hodge speculating, or whether he knew something based on inside info.

The T & T also mentioned already having a couple FA,s signed (anyone know who they are?)and they are trying to sign a scorer, it would be great for the Cats to get some quality FA's, Euro's and Picks as well as guys like Hayes and Cross, if everything were to fall in the Cats favour, I think we would be looking a very good team for the next three years or so.
