Maybe the Islanders will pick him ... or the Blackhawks. I think we have a little more influence in NYI. Nolan probably has direct access to drafted players as well as the GM ... while Torchetti has a few layers of bureaucracy to get through as an asst coach. And I know that the NHL team cannot tell a college player what to do and cannot force him to go to the CHL ... but they can make strong suggestions and be very influential. If the Blackhawks went to Danis-Papin and suggested to him that they felt it would be better for his development to play in the CHL on a team where he'd be a top 4 guy ... for a former college and NHL coach ... with a 70 game season and NHL style playoffs ... he might give it more consideration than if Peter Nevin or John Torchetti (as Wildcat Coach and GM) were talking. Not all NCAA players wait to finish their degree before jumping to the pros ... although they should.
