Congrats to anaheim and to former wildcat François Beauchemin on a stanley cup. And forgot to add about time Selanne got his cup.

That goal by Beauchemin reminded me of a similar goal against Quebec in the famous game 7 at the Coliseum in 2000.
To me, that was the most memorable goal by the Cats, until Marquardt's goal in the semis of the Memorial Cup last year against Vancouver.
He becomes the 2nd former Cat to hoist the cup.

Yes I saw that .... but when it first happened and you heard that distinctive ring ... it reminded of when Beauchemin did it here ... and probably in Bathurst.

He scored a very similar goal in a regular season game against the Remparts that year as well... on the PP in OT.

On another note, for those who were wishing for Ottawa to win, they at least got the winning goal. ;D ;D

And how about Corey Perry. An OHL League Title, Memorial Cup, WJHC Gold Medal, and Stanley Cup in the last 2 and a half years, and he's only 22 years old. Definitely a bright future for this kid in the NHL.

That's one of the things that I like most about the Q........see a kid score a goal like that in the NHL finals and your first thought is...."I remember a shot just like that against the Quebec Remparts when he was playing here"......nice to have that caliber of hockey in our little towns and I don't think we appreciate it enough........seeing one of our boys in the big show is awesome.

I remember a similar situation where Bernier scored a goal last year in San Jose with one hand on the stick and the defenseman draped over him. It was the play of the week I think.

Definitely a bright future for this kid in the NHL. I am not sure if this guy was on a WJHC team but one of the younger players from Anaheim that I was also impressed with was Getzlaf. I think him and Perry are going to be the backbone for that team in the near future.

Yes Getzlaf was on the WJHC team. In fact, he and Perry were teammates on the 2005 team.

Some great videos in there. I even saw myself on one. ;D I hope you can get your hands on some highlights from MacLeod (huge hits), Tezikov, Ettinger, etc.
