I know that there is a trading period for 2 hours from 10 til noon taday. I thought I had heard that this is to submit the trades to the league and they announce them 45 mins before tomorrows draft. Is this the case?
Flynn said he wants to get more picks in the first 5 rounds. It seems to me to make sense to at least try to trade off one of our excess 20's now. If we can get some picks back for Snidermann and Lincourt it may help out in the depth dept.

The trade period actually goes from 9-11AM Atlantic time and I thought last year the list of trades were made available on the web right after the trade period, but I could be wrong. Keep your eyes here www.voltigeurs.ca/index.php?module=CMS&id=98 and www.lhjmq.qc.ca/lang_en/index.php?page=1867346. As for trading our 20s, I don't know how high a pick we could get for them, but I would be surprised if it was something in the top 5 rounds. Maybe Marquardt, but there is still a chance he may go pro.

what do the Goyens and Lincourt trades look like with the picks?
the 3rd was supposed to be going for nothing if Goulet stayed pro.

what do the Goyens and Lincourt trades look like with the picks? the 3rd was supposed to be going for nothing if Goulet stayed pro. We got Goyens from Rimouski for our 4th 2008 and our 6th 2008 ... we get our 4th 2008 back from Rimouski and send then a 4th 2007 that we got from VD. So really no change other than the 4th round pick is now for this year instead of next year. We got Lincourt from VD for our 3rd 2008 and our 5th 2007 ... we now send our 3rd 2007 to VD for their 4th 2007 which we then sent on to Rimouski. What it looks like when you consider that the VD trade is related to Goulet and not Lincourt ... is that we gave them Goulet and a 3rd for a 4th ... or a 3rd for a 4th as compensation for Goulet going pro. But what it also means is for tomorrow's draft ... we just lost our 3rd and 4th round picks ... but gain a 4th (our own) for next year.

Goulet going pro was supposed to be a 3rd straight up.

Goulet going pro was supposed to be a 3rd straight up. Ok ... then instead of ... Goulet (rights), a 3rd 2007 (compensation), 5th 2007 and 3rd 2008 ... for Lincourt it is actually .... Goulet (rights), a 3rd 2007, 5th 2007 and 3rd 2008 ... for Lincourt and a 4th 2007 So from the original deals combined ... it seems we came out of it with an extra 4th ... So if the Goulet compensation was the 3rd 2007 ... then the Lincourt trade becomes ... Lincourt and a 4th 2007 ... for 5th 2007 and 3rd 2008 ... or Lincourt and upgrading a 5th 2007 to a 4th 2007 ... for a 3rd 2008 ... much more palletable.

It makes Lincourt worth a 4th rounder...which he can be traded for this year at the draft(or a 5th).

Not knowing much about how to value players relative to draft picks, would any of Brenton, MacLellan, Morehouse, or Lepage bring back a pick earlier than the 7th round?
Any guesses as to what Sniderman or Morehouse might bring? I'm going to assume nobody would dress Emmanuele as a 20 yo.

There is a surplus of forwards and goalies.

As I understand it, if Samson plays as a 20 for VD we get VD's first round in 2008. Would that take effect as soon as he plays one game or at this same time next year?
