From the CB boards: Jason Swit off to PEI for Joey Haddad. To be made official on June.1. Is it legal to announce it before the deadline like that?? www.capebretonpost.com/index.cfm?sid=31455&sc=146I want to throw this out there too. What would it take to get Grant from Saint John? Would Marqhardt and Goyens for Grant do it? saint John needs 20's and Marqhardt would be a good step forward. (Assuming he comes back) We should try to maximize some of the return and I feel Grant would be one of the best options for us. That is if he is available. Grant will only be 18 next year, I can't see them being crazy enough to let him go for Marquardt plus a throw in. He'll be a 2nd round NHL pick in June. Pretty much agree with that. Saint john would be braindead to make a move close to that. If they are to move Grant it would be for 17/18yo top end scorer/(s).

Wonder if they would do it for one of Cameron or Labelle, plus an overager (maybe Lincourt, or Morehouse) ... don't get me wrong, I like both Cameron and Labelle, but we have a logjam upfront and lack quality on the back end ... this could be a deal that helps both franchises short and long term.

I still think you'd need a lot more than that to get Grant. They'd hold out for something better than Cameron or Labelle or they'd just hold on to him. I think they'd want want two 17/18yos rather than a throw in overager for Grant - it's against what they're trying to build for.

Do you think Jimmy Hayes will actually come to the Q without checking who he might be playing with, and Picard_Hooper is not very hard to find in the scoring stats of the Q Hayes probably has no clue where New Brunswick is As for the Marchand thing I'm not suprised to hear this at all....everybody knows Halifax has to go for it next year(assuming Voracek is back) and Marchand is as skilled as they come for his age,I said that same thing when he wasn't "keen" on reporting to VD'O that he would end up in Hfx by this year....it's a no brainer...especially when you consider the fact that it'll be a huge uproar if he doesn't end up where HE wants to....and all along he wanted to be in Hfx. I hope they make that deal...it'll give me an excuse to hate the Moose The real question about Hfx is if they're going for it who's gonna be the goalie that carries them there???And will Paternaud have the gonads to pull the trigger on 2 blockbuster deals....the Marchand deal would be worth nothing without the addition of a top notch netminder....should be interesting.
