Hayes would be an absolutely huge addition to the Cats ... it would potentially be like the Moose adding Voracek this year.
In a perfect world, we add Hayes, Tommy Cross and two impact euros to our returning core for next season, and we are right up there with any other team in the league.

The word this morning in L'Acadie Nouvelle is the Cats are adding Brannon and Sill. Torchetti confirmed Sill but obviously could not comment on Brannon until the draft. Both will add size and grit.
The article mentionned they would draft the "best player available" sounds like they might draft MacAusland even at 5'6".
It also said they signed 2 FA d-men...I assume from Jr.A.

Agree on both...Cross is a 2nd or 3rd round NHL pick and Hayes a potential top 5. Both could be frontline Q players at 18 next year.

I am not trying to start a debate about which route is better. But if you are "touted" to be a 1st round NHL pick why would you not want to play in the Q?? I realise that the education pkg is possibly better in the NCAA but if you are good enough to be a 1st round pick wouldn't playing more games with a good coaching staff better prepare you for the next level? I know that lots of players have gone from the NCAA ranks and gotten into the NHL I am not disputing that but wouldn't the Q prepare them better? Not arguing about which is better I am just asking.

In theory that makes all the sense in the world, but in the US kids grow up dreaming of playing Prep and NCAA so they can be hard to convince. That was the case with Yandle and Pineault. Maybe have a coach that grew up down there will help.
