First off : Nichlas TorpComes from Sweden and plays in the Swedish J20 Superelite league. Is ranked 7th European skater according to CSR. Stats in his league: 05/06 7 0 0 0 +3 34 06/07 17 3 1 4 +2 42 He also played for the Swedish U18 National team at the U18 Championships. 6 0 1 1 +5 6 As the stats tell us, not a very offensive defenseman, but seems strong in his own zone and doesn't seem to play a little physical if we take a look at his penalty minutes. He's 5'11'', weighs 194 lbs. and shoots left. Will not be in the top 10 for the NHL draft. Probably more in the 15-20 rank. Swedes generally don't play in the CHL because they make good money in the men's league at home if they are elite prospects. The best picks for the Euro draft are usually Czechs and Slovaks plus some of the smaller non-hockey hotbeds like Latvia Lithania Ukraine Norway Denmark...there is a young Slovenian that's good, his name is Anze like Kopitar but his last name escapes me. I think they should draft an 18 year old first, then try and get a guy that's 19 and can make an immediate impact...maybe on defense(possibly drafted). They can go and draft another next year so no harm in taking a 19 year old.
