With Doug MacLean being fired as GM of Columbus, the Cats lose a contact at the NHL level that was very beneficial in bringing some talent here (Pineault, Dupuis, etc.).
I wonder if that will affect Marquardt's status.

I wonder if that will affect Marquardt's status. I doubt it...I'd be shocked if he wasn't back with the poor playoffs, up and down season, contract status and all.

I don't think Marquardt's anywhere near ready for the next level. Yes, he does have talent. But he's only effective when he plays his game. If he's not hitting and skating, he's invisible and that's what we seen in the playoffs and the last part of the year.
