you know just the traveling in that series is gonna take it's toll on both them teams, if Lewy plays Drummond, it's like a 5 hour drive for us, Ryoun Noranda, well that's a whole other story, I think it's like 14 hours from Lewytown.

It would be tough to take it in 5 games I would expect. Both teams are loaded at all positions ... lots of offense ... good goaltending. A tough series to call ... and will probably go at least 6 games and very likely 7.

As catnut said ... they will likely fly ... which means CB flys to VD to start ... sticks around for 3 or 4 days ... flys home ... stay home for 5 or 6 days ... head back to VD for 3 or 4 more days ... and a similar agenda for VD. I would think if Lew gets Drum they go with a 2-2-1-1-1 format and driving which will take a greater toll on the team that anything CB and VD will face by flying. If Lew gets RN it will be a 2-3-2 series and I expect both teams will fly. I only see travel having an affect on the teams if Lew meets Drum ... the very series that you seem to downplay.

I wasn't that impressed with ValDor when they were here.......a lot of Maritime posters said the same thing when they visited their rinks........CB is the best team I've seen this year.........It wouldn't surprise me to see them take it in 5......VD seems to have only one line doing anything at all so far.

I agree with the fact that Cape-Breton seems to have a stronger team then Val-d'Or. Val-d'Or's offense seems a lot more "top heavy" then Cape-Breton's. Marchand, Samson, Shultz and Letang are the most important pieces to the Val-d'Or puzzle. That being said, it should still be one hell of a series. We've got two great goaltenders going head to head (Pavalec vs. Duchesne, if he plays from the start), two very potent offenses and two good defense. I give the edge to Cape-Breton because of scoring depth, a more defensive defense and I think Pavalec is a little better the Duchesne. One thing's for sure, I would love to be able to watch it! Hopefully Eastlink will have the Screaming Eagles' home games on webcast.

Cape Breton Sheppard Fergus McIllveen Culligan Ouellet Laberge Brannon plus role players Macneil Gallant Slaney MacDonald Gauthier Val d'or Marchand Roy Samson Schutz Thibeault Sinkovic Cote plus role players Saulnier Levesque Garrioch Lavoie Bolduc. Defense...VD is better at #1 but CB is deeper at #3-4. Letang Bisaillon Leblanc Richard Legault Archabault/Daneau/Boutin Sawyer Bourdon Bartulis Prokopetz Swit Corcoran/Breton. Goal Pavelec-Davenport Duchesne-D'orso

it will be interesting to see if Duchesne plays, and if he does, his mindset won't be in the game I would think. It's gonna be hard for that young man.

There have been a lot of instances over the years where players (in many sports) lose a parent and play while grieving. In many instances these players come up with outstanding performances.

Not sure about games 6 & 7 though.
