Is it just me or do the playoffs seem a little lame this year? I know it's only the first round and I'm really looking forward to the NHL playoffs since the Pens are in it for the first time in 6 years but it just seems like they aren't as intense as last year and the year before. Let's look at the Q. Lewiston,Cape-Breton and Val D'or all sweep, that I'm ok with, no shock there. And the other two Eastern series are decent. But in the West, at this point I was expecting one sweep and 3 2-2 series. Quebec-Drummondville, at least their games are close. BC-VIC and Gat-RN games aren't with the exception of one OT game by RN and Gat. As for the OHL, they have 4 sweeps, 3 series at 3-1 and one series at 2-1. Hardly interesting. WHL just never disappoints for good playoffs series. They only had one sweep and it was a minor upset by the Prince George Cougars and it had 3 overtime games and the other game was a one goal game. So yeah, I don't mean to bitch or anything but don't worry, I won't be complaining about the NHL playoffs unless the Habs make it P.S For easy access to all the CHL playoffs series' schedules and results you can click on the ''Road to the Memorial Cup'' thread stickied at the top of the board.

I think everyone was expecting good close series and that just isn't happening at all. OHL playoffs have been even worse in the first round. Two series in the WHL have been particularly interesting to me. The #1 team in the CHL, the Everett Silvertips are tied 2-2 with the Spokane Chiefs heading into Game 5 in Everett tonight. Also the #1 team in the WHL's Eastern Conference, the Medicine Hat Tigers are tied 2-2 with the Red Deer Rebels going into Game 5 in Medicine Hat tonight. It will be very interesting to see if Spokane or Red Deer can pull off the HUGE upset. Calgary is actually on the verge of a fairly significant upset as they lead Kootenay 3-1 after an OT win at the Saddledome last night.

Well 1st round is over. There were 4 game 7's. The home team won 1 and the other three were won by the away team in Overtime. OHL had a lame round one, only one series went 6 games. 24 teams remain on the ROAD TO VANCOUVER!
