No use arguing with you, reality has no impact on your world. I guess Rio should have been square to Swan and not the guy on the point with the puck. No ... just a little deeper in his net to protect against the pass ... the photo in the T&T shows him 2 ft out from the blue ice ... and flat footed such that he couldn't slide sideways. You can't play out that far on a 5 on 3 ... the pass is inevitable. I agree, how often does a player, 5 on 3 or not, simply have time to receive a pass, spin, and deposit it into a wide open net from the lower faceoff circle position? Its not like he one timed it past the goaltender. I heard Voracek also completely sold the pass like it was going to Pridham on the other side... which might explain why Sniderman was caught standing still and the defenseman sort of left him to cover Pridham more. But I cant say Ive ever seen a goal where someone takes a pass from the center-point position and has an empty net to spin and shoot at from the faceoff circle. Terrible positioning or "cheat" by Riopel if that was what he was doing, maybe anticipating the pass to Pridham.

The way I saw it was...Voracek did a slap pass to Swan...Riopel bit on it and went into the butterfly expecting a slap shot from Voracek...which in turn had him out of position.
On the Voracek slap shot goal...perhaps Rio was expecting a pass there, or over thinking it...as he didnt really react to the shot until the last second.

I agree with you. I'll be cheering the Cats on from here in Moncton. I'm hoping they can pull out a win and come back home to Moncton still in it. But if they are going to lose, I hope it's close and they give it their all. That's all you can really ask for! Go Cats Go!

Sniderman in nets.
Early PP troubles for the Cats. Pianosi and Morehouse in the box. They HAVE to stay out of the box if they want a chance.

1-1 Moose score .. MacMillan .. Voracek with an assist (they have to figure out how to shut this guy down)
Sounds like our PK is doing well and Sniderman also playing well.
Cats need another goal to silence the crowd again..

Well the Cats are tied with Halifax after one period. That's a good sign..

Pretty good first period, the effort is a lot better tonight than it was on Wednesday. It was a huge to kill off that 5-on-3 and then go down and take a 1-0 lead. Too bad we had to let the Moose get on the board and tie it up. But overall a pretty good period by the Wildcats, let's hope they can keep it up for the next 40 minutes and you never know what might happen.
