Is there going to be a list of players somewhere we are drafting from? Or are we just going to have to go through the q site? Cause I'm not totally sure how updated those rosters are as far as players actually playing in the upcoming season.

There won't be a list of players available from me... but even if the Q site isn't totally updated, it shouldn't come into play. Each team consists of (at a minimum) 12 forwards, six defense and two goalies. By selecting three fewer forwards, two fewer defense and one less goalie (also factor in that each division will be a grouping of 13 teams picking from an 18 team league), even the Q site should be a reliable enough source for updated rosters... even if the rosters aren't 100% up to date. The only time I have seen a person REALLY, REALLY blow it on a pick would be if a person drafted a certain player and that player unexpectedly went pro (it happened to me in 02-03 with PM Bouchard, actually).

Just wondering how roster moves work.
Do I have to wait for one of my current roster players to be injured or can I simply switch players anytime ?
What's the process to claim/drop a player?
and
Is it full season points which count our I am assuming just his point totals after he is picked up (although that is much harder for Sec 21 to keep track)?

You don't have to wait for a player to be injured before they can be dropped... but you should still be cautious of who you drop only because of your limited number of roster moves. To switch a player, send me a PM. I will announce it on this board. The player you drop immediately becomes a "free agent" and is able to be picked up by anyone. If anyone protests a roster move, the move only comes into effect once the final decision regarding the move has been rendered (i.e. if it's decided that the move will be voted on through a poll). Other pool memebers have 24 hours from the announcement of the roster move to submit a protest. (I forgot to note this last part in the rules... but I will add it right away) I doubt you'll ever see a move protested. That would probably only come into play if it's determined the move is either highly unfair or just very sketchy in general. That rule is basically in there for contingency purposes only. As for the statistical side of things, you will retain any points you have accumulated from the player you drop while that player was still active on your roster. At the same time, you will only begin to accumulate points from your replacement player once that player is active on your roster. You'd think it's tricky to keep track of, but I've found it quite easy in the past. It's just a matter of either noting on a spreadsheet or even writing down in a book how many points that player had before you acquired him.

Someone dropped does not go through some kind of waiver order?? If you just happen to be here and see it it's first come first serve?? Just curious...

Thanks Sec21.
My question comes up because of the "unknown" status of Kveton which was my high risk pick. It was reported in the local paper that he was in camp and I was hoping for good things from him potentially pairing up with Trukhno but he is not listed on Gatineau's official roster on the Q site which doesn't look good.
Having said that I went on Gatineau's forum (I can't become a member) and they haven't posted anything about him so I really don't know. But if anyone does know anything more on this I would appreciate hearing about it.
Anyway hopefully by Thurs after the other draft we will be able to see everyone's official roster because if Kveton isn't in the Q I will need to try and grab a different player.
Also I really like the idea of maintaining a clean waiver thread for each division so that we can track roster movement.

Kveton showed up at camp, skated with Krejci before leaving for an NHL camp. He will likely be back in Gatineau soon.

Thanks for the info. Any idea which NHL team has his rights?
* Edit - Found out he is owned by the NY Rangers. *
Also strange that the Q site wouldn't still have him listed on the final roster they have 24 other players which had me worried.

I noticed that this morning as well (that he's not on Gatineau's 24 man roster). Strange.... Also, I like your waiver thread idea... that will be added here at some point today.
