With their 2nd pick in the Import Draft, the Rocket selected Czech forward Peter Cmorej. He played in North American this past season for Sante Fe, but was selected 24th overall in the 2005 Import Draft by the Prince Albert Raiders. I'm not sure if this is the 1st time a player has been selected in back-to-back import drafts, but how is it possible?
Was he released by PA and became a free agent of sorts?

He has to have been released to be drafted again.
If Prince Albert wanted to draft another Euro, they had to release him first.

It happened a few years ago with Rimouski ... they had a mediocre Euro named Michal Gavalier whom they released before the draft in hopes of landing an upgrade. Whoever they were targeting must have been snapped up before their turn, because when their turn came around they drafted .... Michal Gavalier. Now that was weird...

There was also Vladimir Artushin with Gatineau traded to Cape Breton and then drafted by a WHL club.
