It was going to be downhill with our without Nolan. There is nowhere else to go but down unless you are expecting to win the Memorial cup.

I didnt mean to seam so nagitive but if you really think about it, with the littel talent we have left, and no ted how do we expect to sign any free agents??? and what about our prospects playing in the us??? like papin if we still had ted its a much bigger sell then if we dont... i still belive next year there is no question in my mind that we will make the playoffs... its just a question on what eles besides that i feel if we had ted we could still be a strong team cause he really makes his players battle for him...

Nolan already had 12-15 Free agents lined up, no reason to think those guys wouldn't come just because he is gone. He will be missed for player development and coaching abilities, no doubt, but he may still be an asset in bringing players in, FA's or "NCAA" guys.

I agree but having Nolan "here" might have been more of a draw as they would be playing for a coach that "knows" what it takes to get to the show. He seems to also get the most out of his players and their development seemed to be much quicker under his guidance. I am sure Flynn had lots to do with it too but having a high profile coach might have assisted in luring more NCAA players here.
