Could somebody please tell me what Hepditch and Eagles are doing in a shootout. My goodness i can understand we have players missing but give me a break.Where was our little speedster Girard or even Sampson who's got a nice shot and pick a corner. This team better improve and better improve fast because you can start hearing the gossip already.I know i said earlier on that give this team until after christmas but it would be nice to see us with a team at the begining of the year and win it together and just make minor adjustments after christmas. We loyal fans have waited 10 years for this so if we got to sell the farm for this so be it.I,m sure us loylal fans can wait to see this team rebuild again.

I'm going to love the shootout and the hours of second guessing afterwards. As long as this format doesn't enter the playoff picture, it will improve the game dramically.

I don't think it will improve the game at all. If you have a team that has a few snipers on it, it will be good for you only. A team works very hard for a tie game, then comes to a shootout, where it immediately becomes an individual game. You will see the same guys shooting for every shootout you see all season. It is also bad when you have a team with a weak goaltender with a really good defense.....that goaltender is gonna be exposed and his team take a loss that they, as a team, worked so hard to get a tie. On the other hand, a team with a very good goalie is gonna win more games, just because they have a good goalie for the shootout. Take Josh Hepditch shooting at Adam Russo vs Matthieu Roy shooting against Kennedy from Halifax........who wins this shootout...not too hard to figure out and makes a team game an individual game. Leave it as ties as it always was.

Leave it as ties as it always was. The Wildcats would win ... because the Titan used an ineligible player ... I'm not a fan of shootouts ... its a team game and suddenly the outcome of some games is placed on individual performance for 5 seconds of time. Lets imagine that its the final game of the regular season ... think back 5 years ago (or so) when Halifax came into Moncton for the final regular season game with the division championship on the line. Score was tied 1-1 late in the game and Halifax needed a win to get ahead of Moncton ... they pulled their goaltender to try to win the game ... and lost by an empty-netter. No banner should be won with a shootout. Imagine if that went to a shootout with so much riding on a goaltender's performance for a mere 5 seconds of time. Imagine the same scenario involving two teams battling for the last playoff spot. The goaltender will always be blamed for the loss ... but the shooters will never be blamed for failing to score. It sucks ... and it isn't nearly as exciting as people make it out to be ... its like watching a shootout at the end of practice. I'd rather see them go to 3 on 3 OT.

They should make a few rules to the shootouts though. such as ...
At least one Dman must be a shooter on each team ... only one player from each age group (birth year) can shoot per night (one 18 yr old, one 19 yr old, and one 20)... no player may shoot for his team more than 3 times per year unless all players have shot 3 times.
And ... on at least one night ... the teams should agree that the backup goaltenders will shoot ... ;D

Let's say Moncton vs Bathurst, we would have Nolan choose the Titan shooters and Durocher choose the Moncton shooters.

Yeah, who needs change. Lets stick to that lame 5 min overtime. Do you folks seriously think that this won't make the games more exciting? Weak goaltenders, goaltenders who'll be left with a complex, blaming the goaltender for the loss, teams without snipers....will these problems be exposed because of the shootout? If you have these problems, you'll probably lose in regulation anyway. Overtime during the regular season has been a waste of time. If that's what people want, end it tied after regulation.
Of course, if I had my choice, let the two toughest guys square off at center ice, the three refs will judge. If the linesmen's votes create a split decision, the head referee will be the deciding vote. If it is clearly a draw, bring on the next two....
Anything but the 5 min, mostly undecided, overtime of the past.
