I popped over to the 4-Plex for a few minutes this morning ... nobody was on the ice but the FA's were to take the ice at 11:00 AM. I asked at the info desk and they are scheduled to be on the ice Tue, Wed and Thur from 11:00 AM til 1:00 ... Friday from 6:00 PM til 9:00 ... and then two sessions on Saturday and Sunday ... both sessions from 9:00 AM to 12:00 ... and 2:00 PM til 5:00. These times are from my memory so I may be incorrect.
These are the only icetimes blocked off for the Wildcats as of today ... and today's 11:00 AM session was not even on the schedule ... so they may have other on-ice sessions at differing times than what I show here. I think they own the ice for Rink A for almost all of the week as there was very little else scheduled through the week there.
If anybody has any more and up to date info please post it here.

Did you see anyone in 'street clothes' by any chance?

Did you see anyone in 'street clothes' by any chance? As a matter of fact I did ... but couldn't identify him. Tall ... around 6'3" ... built more or less like Saunders ... shaggy blonde hair ... and flip-flops (for chsb). I went back over at lunch time ... and saw the final 10 minutes of the practice. There were only about 8 -10 guys on the ice when I got there. They included Salvis (just getting ice), Hepditch, Gaudet, Saunders, Donovan, Francis ... and maybe 3 guys I couldn't identify, including Mr. Flip Flops who skated well. Somebody said that Matt Eagles was one of the guys as his father was in the stands ... but I wasn't certain. That would make sense as you'll notice that all of the other noted players are all Maritimers.

The flip-flop, 6'3 could describe about 4 or 5 of the free agents.....I've heard that Tim Spencer would fit this description, and also that he was the most feared goon in the province of Saskachewan. Furthermore, staff have vouched that Spencer would be an extremely competitive opponent for K. Cormier. As for his skills as a hockey player; apparently questionable.

Moore Angus and Oblinecki are apparently here more for toughness than skill.

Looks small in his street clothes .... cut him !! Saunders? He was at portland 2 weeks ago with their other draft choices. I was hoping he would have made their team.

Saunders can also be seen driving around town in his new truck. He bought himself one of those new GMC Canyon's. Its a nice upgrade from his Mercury Sable last season.

At this point he is just getting some icetime with the Cats before heading to NHL/AHL camp in mid-September. His being in Moncton in no way signals that he did not make the team in Portland.

If Saunders was a Titan and was in Bathurst getting ice time, chsb would be all over the message boards saying Saunders would be a 20 yr old in the Q this year.

Good point ... however, looking at it rationally, lots of alums skate with their old junior teams before going to pro camp, Salvis was out with the Cats this week as well. Good way for local boys to get a workout, and, at the same time, pass along some pointers and tradition to the newcomers.

Saint John has already posted their first round of cuts and here in Moncton with training camp starting tomorrow we still can't find out whs's supposed to be coming. The official site still says to check back in August.......well I've been checking. There's playing your cards close to the vest and then there's just being ridiculous.
