No, he was not on Survivor.
According to Rockettalk and confirmed in the Guardian, Coach Alain Vigneault has left the PEI Rocket to take on the head coaching job of the Manitoba Moose of the AHL.
That is a blow to the Rocket one week before training camp begins.
I won't miss his bitching at the refs that you could hear throughout the Coliseum but he provided entertainment, especially his shouting fits with Larue and then Lacroix.

That is dirty in my book ... I hope this has been planned for several months so they aren't caught with their pants down. Its too close to the season beginning for this to occur.

I agree the timing is awful but you can't keep a guy from moving up the ranks so to speak.
Good luck Alain... just wish this could have been done a couple months earlier so we'd have a head coach in place for camp.

What made that announcement so late in the off-season was the NHL lockout. After it was resolved, the Wings lured Babcock, which was followed by Anaheim hiring Carlyle. Then the Moose had to hire a replacement. There is a delay between each step, which made this announcement so tardy.

The timing of the end of the lockout likely played a part in the poor timing of this move. Who Coached Manitoba last year ? Edit: As stated above by Catnut ... one minute earlier ...

We have an extra coach in Moncton that may be interested in the job.
