Here's the number of balls each team will have for the draft lottery according to the rules and the draft table on TSN.ca (assuming that the 1st pick rule is for the team that was awarded it, not traded for it)...
ANA: 2 ATL: 2 BOS: 1 BUF: 3 CGY: 2 CAR: 2 CHI: 2 COL: 1 CLB: 3 (or 2 if based on actual picks, ref: 2002) DAL: 1 DET: 1 EDM: 2 FLO: 1 (or 3 if based on actual picks, ref: 2002, 2003) LA: 2 MIN: 2 MON: 1 NAS: 2 NJ: 1 NYI: 1 NYR: 3 OTT: 1 PHI: 1 PHO: 2 PIT: 3 (or 2 if based on actual picks, ref: 2003) STL: 1 SJ: 1 TB: 1 TOR: 1 VAN: 1 WAS: 1

Top 5 teams I wish would win the Crosby lottery.
1. Montreal (We'd get the chance to see him more on TV, and we will find out how well he responds to the Montreal media pressure) 2. Boston (Bergeron, Crosby, Thornton... need I say more?) 3. Ottawa (Maybe they could get pass the 2nd round of the playoffs) 4. Calgary (Canadian Team and would work well with Iginla 5. Columbus (Would be great to build a team around Nash and Crosby.)

Crosby to the rebuilding Winnipeg Jets, or the newly acquired franchise in Saskatoon. Couldn't handle having him in Quebec, now that Patrick Roy has bought a franchise.. That should be the reward for Canadians who sat out a year of hockey. The NHL will probably have the draft fixed so an American team will get him so thay can save their now cancelled TV deals. Yeh, lets put him in Nashville, oh better yet Carolina, because that franchise is doing so much better since leaving Hartford. At least the CFL quickly cut their losses after their failed expansion down south. The one American CFL city that worked, ah yes, a true football city, Baltimore. Shouldn't the NHL have learned from this experiment?

What are you talking about, Ric? I'm talking about the 'next to useless' NHL expansion franchises in the southern US, and the fact that we need to re-establish old Canadian franchises. What did you think, I had confused the WHA with the NHL?

I wonder if they will hold a pre-season game here as they had planned to do last year.

As far as the title of this thread goes...who cares??I hope there is a concerted effort on the part of the fans to boycott the NHL's Opening Night next year.I would love it if they had Opening Night without one fan in any of their buildings.Screw 'em...I'll stick to watching Major Junior.

Having the best players does not automatically make it the most entertaining. For the last 8-10 years junior and college hockey beat the NHl for entertainment.

I was just stating that the league has the best players in the world. For that, I love the NHL... for diferent reasons I also love other leagues, such as junior hockey... as for college, never really gotten into it that much, never had much chance to watch it on tv... NHL - NOT the most entertaining... 10 four-year old kids fighting for the puck, all at the same time and falling like drunken penguins all over - Very Entertaining...
