Lacasse will not go back to BC. Blanchard on trial for a couple of months would be a good idea... Tremblay or Desjardins could be available if need there is... How about a trade of Lacasse and Samson to Rimouski for Desjardins? I hope not! I know Desjardins played in the Memorial Cup this year... but there's something about him (his play) that doesn't inspire confidence. For a backup, I would agree if he wasn't taking up a 20-year-old spot.

How about a trade of Lacasse and Samson to Rimouski for Desjardins? That sounds like one of those LGM deals from last year ... trade a 19 yr old G (LaCasse) that we don't own, and an 18 yr old hardworking forward (Samson) ... for a 20 yr old goaltender (DesJardins) to come in to be backup. Which 20 yr old do we delete to make room for the backup ?

He would be your number 1 goaltender if Blanchard falters....read again.... And, that you care to admit it or not, Nolan is already shopping... Lacasse cannot do that job. He is mediocre at best. Why do u think BC let him go??

CHSB, you cannot include Lacasse in any trades you dream up for the Cats right now. He technically is not our property.
You also seem to be the only one around that believes Blanchard wouldn't be able to handle being #1.
I'm not saying he'll be the best goalie in the league, but he did not show anything to me last year that would lead me to believe he'll choke this year. Yes, he'll probably have a rough game or two. But any goalie goes through that.

Nolan is looking to add depth at all positions ... adding LaCasse as a backup is what that is trying to do. He may not pan out ... but he is only coming on a tryout ... not a trade. He'll have to earn the spot first.

He's never lost to the Titan, I think he is 3-0-0 and like a 1.25 GAA against you guys... That must have taken a lot of hard work against the Titan last year. Come on Billy, you need a better comparison than that..... You guys could have put an extra dman out there instead of a goalie and still beat us last year.

That's not the point...how can chsb/btitan say that Blanchard is a question mark or weakness if he never even saw him have a bad night? That's like me saying that Roy will hurt his knee and miss 3 months.

He is good, but by playing the Titan last year, his numbers are deflated a bit. And, btw, before you jump all over that, I think he has what it takes to be a great goalie in this league, and should be your number one this year.

The Wc staff has invite the Vdo goaltender Blouin. I think that there will have a lot of competition. 2 goaltenders in Blouin an Lacasse who did not have a good season last year , but I think they have both a lot of potential. Two years ago in Vdo during the midget draft , the Wc organisation hesitated between Blouin an Blanchard for first pick. And both of them was to the U-17 training camp 2 years ago.
