Only problem with that is how it may affect the young kids who played regular minutes last year and in some cases real strong minutes and now this year they appear to be being bumped off the team completely or into total fringe player mode.. I'm speaking of the Marchands, Adams and Donovans You saw what happened with a deep Moosehead team this year and some very malcontent 17 year old kids ... you guys could be setting yourselves up for the same situation I don't think a Jr.A banger/goon has any chance of knocking Marchand off the team, don't be ridiculous. He's one of the best in the world for his age group. Donovan will be 19 so he'll have to battle other 19 year olds. The WC drafted some young foarwards in the draft, chances are they will get another year MAAA. Adam plays on defense so he should not be affected by those guys.

So you think Marchand will play top 2 lines?
Or 4th line fringe player?
I agree he proved himself last year.. diminishing his role substantially in his 17 year old season.. well it might be better for your team this year it won't be better for your future offensive star
Is that being ridiculous?
Perhaps Marchand will be happy to take 4th line icetime .. or perhaps he will not and become a problem.... time will tell

Yetman did play Jr A, and like I said some of these guys are real good. That year is pretty much a carbon copy of this year. We want to make it to the Cup by the front door, not the easy way in. As good as Yetman was, he jumped between the third and fourth line after Christmas. I believe that FA's are good, we just need some proven guys to help out, and not guys who are planning the play US College.

The smart thing to do is give him a shot and let him prove he isn't a 2nd line guy rather than stick him with goons and bangers. He proved last year he could contribute when he played with top end skill guys. If another 20 forward is acquired, Goulet could drop to Gaudet's line because of his type of style fits better there. Marchand could also play on the 4th line but get shifts on the top lines and time on the 2nd PP also...there are ways to get him more ice time than usual 4th line duty. He probably won't get as much of an opportunity than he would if it wasn't a Memorial Cup year but he should still progress.

Can someone please tell Mr. Nolan that he accepted a coaching position with the Wildcats and not the Beavers. What's all these 19 year old free agent signings, who played Junior A last year. If by 19 your still playing Jr A, I don't think you can play on a Memorial Cup team. And if he does realize that he's coaching the Wildcats, tell him its for real, not a fantasy league. He's all happy about signing superstars that plan on playing US College. We need a good team on ice, not on paper. Paper teams don't win Memorial Cups. He's trying to cretae depth but even more importantly he's trying to create a competitive camp. It's pretty easy to see he wants to see the players that will pay the price for the team, the ones who will bleed for the jersey, go in the corners, punish the other team and make the opposing players hear footsteps out there.A little infusion of heart in training camp could set the tone for the year. Maybe none of the free agants will make the team, but the players who do make the team will know the effort level required to play for Nolan by the end of training camp.

Hey you guys never know until camp in augest, sometimes guys do get passed over. Look at a guy like Andrew ladd, drafted third overall, Gold Medal winner with team Canada and where was he two years ago? Playing Jr. A in the BCHL. Guys get passed over or some just decide to stay playing Jr. A to go the College route unless the right offer comes along.
I've seen a few Jr. A games in my time and some of those kids have alot more heart then guys in the CHL. Just because where they play doesn't mean how good they are. Sure the whole team isn't going to be Jr. A free agents, but sometimes you always find that one diamond in the rough.

Where have you been hiding? Aw shucks...making me blush ....I started taking Ginko Biloba while I was on vacation and everything became so clear.... Now I'm working on expounding Einstein's Theory of Relativity, and I gave Stephen Hawking a call and told him he's got it all wrong ;D

If Nolan can solve the Graham riddle he'll unlock a real find-Bruce could put up scary numbers with the proper mind-set and motivation.I hope he gets good linemates right from the start and goes on a year-long tear.
