Two comments:
Firstly, I wouldn't consider the T&T "100% reliable". They ARE right in this instance, but I had heard about tomorrow's press conference before this morning from another source whom I happen to trust more than the T&T.
Secondly, to the person who feels this is a great move by the Cats: How is it great? Yes, it's great that they are signing a coach... that basically gets the ball rolling on this season. But until we actually see how he interacts with the players both in practises and in games throughout the year, I wouldn't say it's a completely foregone conclusion that this is a "great move".
I mean, we've heard good things (then again, would Neil Hodge print BAD things about him?) and I'm sure he'll be competent enough, but the only "great" move I see here is the fact that they at least have SOMEONE behind the bench.

Coach Torchetti certainly seems to bring a ton of experience to the table and he has worked with young men this age before with some success so let's say it is a good move for now and see if it was a great move at the mid-point of the season. There should still be some important moves to come regarding assistant coaches. Flynn and Lacroix were a major part of Ted Nolans success.

I think its a pretty good move. The Cats wanted someone who had pro experience and they had quite a few applications(that I read from on here.) but Torchetti seemed to have the backing of some NHL teams and everything I have read (yes they are from biased sources but what else do I have to go by) he seems to be a good fit for a young team. Irving saw the value of a pretty high profile coach (Not saying Torchetti has the same profile as Nolan) and experience at all levels can do. You are right I have not seen his practices or his interactions with the players but I think this was probably the best applicant for the job. (Of the ones that were available.)
