IMO We really need to trade 2 of:Welton, A.MacDonald, D.MacDonald or Belanger and get 2 of Denis-Pepin, Strait, Pianosi or Cross, or equivalent young D-men. We have a pretty good mix of experienced forwards and rookies, but too many older(AND GOOD) d-men for rookies to get a chance to play regularly and develop. Welton and A.MacDonald especially should bring a fair price in either younger D-men or '07 draft choices. What do you guys think?

Alright here's the question.
Would we get more for Bordon in a trade if he doesn't go to Vancouver or would we get more form trades for Samson and Goulet? At first we thought that we would get more from Bourdon but the more I think of it the more I think it is better if Bourdon does make Vancouver. Also what is the trade Val D'or will get if Goulet goes to the AHL?
This question doesn't care about "till Chistmas" because who cares if after Christmas is just going to suck anyway.

Obviously Bill you scouted him because you wave his flag the most, but there is no way in hell we would get two first round draft choices for him and we gave up a lot more than that for him. By the time Samson plays here till Christmas, it will become apparent that he will be worth a first round choice and Goulet worth at least a second.

Bourdon was a top 10 NHL draft pick and WJHC all-star, if he isn't worth a ton, then who the hell is?

He played terrible before he was hurt and just alright after that. Was it important we had him, sure, but he was too expensive and perhaps overrated. We've seen that lots of times. i.e. Why wasn't Bernier on the Canadian Team last year? Far worse players were drafted before him and were on the WJHC. I guess the WJHC is eating crow watching him on a 1 point a game run now.

So I go back to my original question, is he worth as much as both Samson and Goulet and you can value Goulet at the trade we will loose when he goes to the AHL. I would say at best its even.

It can't be even, Goulet is gone...Bourdon is worth at least twice what Samson is. Goulet has no value.

I thought that was the deal.

What We REALLY Need.......Is A Coach!!!
With Bowness out of the picture; signed on as an assistant in Vancouver, who are the front runners? Obviously Danny Flynn and Dan LaCroix are still out there, but are apparently headed to Long Island with Ted Nolan. A "longshot" could be Brad Crossley, head coach of the Dartmouth Subways. He has proven to be able to put together a winning team even when its young. He was rumoured to be named assistant in Halifax, but denied any reports or requests. Maybe he's pulling an "Esposito", but as a coach. He has the coaching record to move up in the business and with the Wildcats being in a rebuilding state, he could be the right fit. Being a coach in Midget, he knows what its like to being around a younger players. From what I've heard from past and present Subway players, he is someone who puts his players before anything else and works really well under pressure.
