in spite of whoever gets this job, it still doesn't overlook the fact that the two best candidates (Lacroix and Flynn, of course) are apparantly not viable options. I would be the first to give Nolan all the credit in the world for what he did with last season's team... but at the same time, I find it ironic that he may very well strip the franchise of it's two most valuable people. I'm not bitter... maybe a LITTLE selfish... but I find it ironic nonetheless. Nolan was saying over and over that he wanted to keep some stability within the franchise after his departure... one thing he could've done in addition to drafting players and inviting FA's to camp next year could've been to NOT take what remained of our solid coaching staff to Long Island with him. (This being on the condition they officialy get hired.. anyone hear as to when it COULD be official??) The only thing I saw was that Flynn had given his resignation at St.FX and the speculation was that an announcement was imminent. As far as your thoughts on losing Flynn and Lacroix are concerned- it's sad for the Wildcats to apparently be losing them but I'll be very happy for them personally to be moving up to the Show with Nolan.

Since Nolan's departure, this team seems to have lost any sense of direction... A new coach and GM will come a little late to shape up properly next season. Rebuilding from scratch??

How have the lost any sense of direction? They made it through the Q draft and Euro draft just fine, even traded Bartulis to CB, even adding a 2nd rounder plus getting 2 17 year old Forwards. How are the Titan coming with that established QMJHL goalie?

Here we are July 10th no coach in Moncton and a team that has many players who need to know who will be running the show in Moncton and many will look at other places to play soon as they cannot wait for the Irvings to announce the main coach !!!!But when you spend so much last season for just the president cup you do get upset too if you wanted it all!!!

"they cannot wait for the Irvings to announce the main coach " Doubt it they would want to play some where else.....knowing Robert Irving s history with the Cats it only been improving...........Wildcats organisation reputation is the envy of many who wish they belong to! No panic button here!

The Wildcats have surpassed all Q teams as the place all kids want to play ... the Moose are second class to Moncton now especially since they took on the attitude that winning is only secondary. Everybody wants to come to Moncton ... even Bodnarchuck was heard to say that he realizes now that he'd made a big mistake not reporting to Moncton. I've heard rumours that Duchesne will ask to be traded if he returns to the Q ... and Hillier apparently wants out ... Patrick Roy has already inquired about him. The once mighty Moose franchise is just another team now when it comes to players enjoying their time there ... might be time to clean house from the top down.

I just heard you can expect an announcement any day now. Why do I get a feeling it'll be John Torchetti after reading the articles about him lately. Some good out of this though, he's from the Boston area and could help bring some Americans into the fold.

It probably an informal way to announce him as the coach until he is released from other contractual obligations hopefully to steady the fans.

L.A. brought in a new coaching staff this year, cleaned house.
