Billy! How can you have Bourdon on your D and Samson on your first line?? Everybody know that, if Bourdon is back, Samson is heading to Vald'Or. Very simple... If Bourdon returns it will be in late September/early October, 19 year olds can't be traded until the December trade period, so Samson would be in Moncton at least half the year.

Coffee shop talk from Bathurst.......take it for what it's worth. I heard this morning that Bartulis will be the Titan's 2nd Euro this season.......coming over for our 1st round Euro pick and a 3rd or 4th next year. Whoa! we better be getting more than that for Bartulis....a late Euro pick and a 3rd or 4th Q pick...come on!!! lets try the Euro Pick and nothing lower than a 2nd rounder.

Bartulis is a pretty solid Euro with 2 years experience, plus Memorial Cup experience. I can see him going to a small market contender for a top 20 Euro pick plus a 2nd or good young player, no less.

His play was great throughout the playoffs as he had the highest plus/minus of any player. He was probably our most steady D man in the playoffs and Mem cup. I agree he is worth more than a euro and 3rd or 4th rounder.

Does anyone know if Simon Danis-Pepin or Brian Strait will report to the Cats? Also, what about guys like: Philippe Lalonde, Chris Gardiner, and J.B. Cote-Vallieres, anyone know what their futures hold with the Cats?

I think the best bet on Danis-Pepin and strait is later this month after they are drafted. certain NHL teams would encourage them to play in the Q instead of NCAA.

However, we just lost an important element to attract them here or to convince the NHL clubs to encourage them to come here. Nolan played an important role in that area last year (even moreso than the Memorial Cup according to a certain player from the States).

That would be two great additions to the Cats. Hopefully Yandle's season and contract signing will assist in Danis-Pepin signing and maybe Strait as well. We had a lot of exposure last year and this could be a good opportunity to get their. I am sure Irving will ante up as well if needed.

It would be nice if we could get Pepin and Strait here, but the incentive isnt as great as it was last year. Also, i wonder if we have any chance of getting Jimmy Hayes here or the other 2 americans we drafted, John Heffernan and Tommy Cross?

Forwards 1-Samson-Gaudet-LaBelle 2-Marquardt-Eagles-Euro My biggest hope is that Marquardt and Samson get put on line 1 together-with either Gaudet or Eagles at center.I think that with Samson digging it out of the corners,if Marquardt finds a shooting area Samson can either feed him for the shot or keep it himself if the pass isn't there. I don't see this lineup as a bottom-feeder(7th,8th?)...and with a few FA and a "surprise" here or there(American) it could be another fun year.Actually it'll be a fun year regardless.

I agree Pong, the worst thing about Junior hockey is that the players you enjoy watching move on, rough years sometimes follow good years. But it's also what makes junior hockey so great...each year is a new chance for new players to make their mark. I think it will be exciting as well...as much as we will miss the players we saw develop, this year is a real unknown and it will be interesting to see what happens. I don't see this lineup as a bottom-feeder(7th,8th?)...and with a few FA and a "surprise" here or there(American) it could be another fun year.Actually it'll be a fun year regardless.

The way most people on here talk its going to be a bust of a season. I for one thought we would be battling for 3 or 4th in our division if we get the right coach. We will have a .500 or just slightly about team I'm thinking. Great on D , Good(Not Great) Goaltending and up front we will have to work for our goals. See how how Free AGents pan out and our young players if they can find the net. There is always surprises and I'm hoping this will be a year of Surprises. (Have Faith)

(Have Faith) The "bust of a season" should/could be at midseason, if Bourdon is back, then Samson heads to VD. Bourdon Welton and Bartulis are all likely to be traded also as they need to add picks and younger players. If the team stands pat, the 07-08 team will look something line this Riopel Ouskun Pianosi(if he reports) Marquardt(20) Eagles Morehouse(20) Labelle Lessard Cameron. That would leave them real thin on the blueline and pretty thin up front. They need to move veterans this upcoming year or end up mediocre from 3 years like Victo and BC.
