Did anyone else see the show last night. It was very complementary of the Cats and had some pretty good insights to what was going to happen to the NB Q teams this coming year. They didn't tell me anything that hadn't been posted here in the way of rumors already but it was still a good show.
The one highlight was an interview with Patrick (spit) Roy who was very uncharacteristically complementary of the Cats and the Organization. Considering it was right after the game I couldn't believe it was him. I think he will grow from this year and decide that there are lines you do not cross just to win. Or may not. Time will tell.
It was a great show however and the interviews made it.

One thought on Patrick Roy.......after having a media pass for the MemCup, I learned very quickly how reporters can twist a story around to make it sound either good, or bad........I found this was the case with Roy........a lot of the things put in the paper that were so called "quotes" of his, are just a reporters "spin" on how the reporter wanted to make him sound........one thing I learned was that Roy isn't or wasn't have as bad as one certain reporter from your area made him out to be, and I in fact found him very respectful of all teams and players.

I hear what you are saying but I think Patrick has to own his quotes in this case. Nolan didn't obviously feel that Patrick had been misquoted. That final hand shake spoke volumes.

Roy made comments that upset Nolan ... Nolan let it be known that he was upset ... Roy accomplished his objective. Nolan played right into Roy's hands. I thought Nolan was smarter than that.

If these were men in the NHL or even University I think I would agree with you but these are 17 -20 yr old kids that are growing. Undermining the confidence of some kid is pathetic for a grown adult with two NHL rings because he's worried about his investment.

If that was the case that "Our reporters" twisted his comments well..........reporters on RDS and sport analysis on 110%(TQS at midnigth)sure didn t read it the way you mentionned! Guess all like to twist quotes ....according to you!

Guess all like to twist quotes ....according to you! You had to be there........Roy actually called out of the reporters on it the next day after his "quotes" were misquoted, saying you wrote "this" when I said "this", then asked him why......Roy also said something like why do you bother asking me questions when you're just gonna write whatever you want anyway?.......the reporter didn't know what to say as he did this in a press conference........let's just say you had to be there, and a lot of things I read in the papers the week of the MemCup were twisted info...........I'm not taking up for Roy or anybody else, but I do know what he said and what was written, and it wasn't even close....... Let's say somebody asked Roy if Moncton's goalie was a factor in Quebec beating them.............Roy answers..."yes, Moncton has a great goalie but tonight he wasn't good, he didn't play his best game against us tonight".....................then the next day you read in the paper.....Roy says "Moncton's goalie is no good"............that's just about how it happened, and on more than one occassion.......a reporters spinoff...........a lot of the stories were just that.......stories.

I have to agree here and also some of the actual direct quotes are misleading when reading them, they showed some of the press conferences on sportsnet after and he would say something in a certain tone but when you read it in text it sounds completely different if you didn't know his tone. Kinda hard to explain but you know
