The one on Bartulis was a good call ... Bartulis skated right to the player ... latched onto him ... and then purposely fell down trying to draw a penalty. The Ref saw through it and so did I.

The call on Bartulis was good. He fell to the ice and grabed on the Remparts player to take him down with him. The ref did a solid game. Both teams went to the box evenly and there were missed penalties, but on both sides. Don't forget the Wildcats' D (I forget who) high sticked a Quebec player in front of the net a couple of minutes before the goal.
What I really did not like was seeing Robillard giving Dupuis, who is obviously injured, a cross check in the back early in the 1st. It was really cheap. Also, i hope the refs notice the Remparts' elbows next game, as they were often right on the head.
But overall, the ref did a great game. On the 5 on 3, both penalties were penalties. However, I really did like the way the crowd was screaming and booing when Roy was talking to the Ref!

I don't know if he so much missed it, I thought he saw it but maybe thought it was harmless.. seeing it on sportsnet It looked like he saw it. I thought it should have been a penalty too.

I don't often have a difference with my friend Bobo_Sinclair here, but I will disagree on the Bartulis penalty as it happened right in front of us, a bad call by the ref. I think it was Melanson (not sure) he was holding Bartulis and when Oskars he lifted his arms to get himself out of the hold, the Ramparts player let himself go. That was why Nolan had a smirk on his face. That was one for Roy. There was no way Bartulis was wrong on that one the ref was on the blind side and did not have a good view I agree. These players have been around for some time, that's for sure.

These players have been around for some time, that's for sure. Well I guess there's pretty much a first time for everything! Well, I can honestly say that I would have honestly made exactly the same call as the ref did. So would have my friend beside me. However, I will agree on one thing. The play was on the ref's blindside. That is true. I noticed how his head turned just in time to see both players fall to the ice. Obviously, Bartulis fell first. I can't say for sure that he saw the entire play, but enough to make him judge that Barts was going to the box I guess. Was it for Roy? I dunno, Charon usually likes to challenge Roy, as we saw in their exchange. He wasn't letting Roy getting any wiggle room for arguing. That said, there's always an effect when a coach talks to a referee. Just hope it's a good one for your team!
