Media Release Re: Bourdon expected to play For Immediate Release After an eight week absence, outstanding defenseman, Luc Bourdon, is expected to suit up for the Moncton Wildcats when they begin their quarter final playoff series against the Halifax Mooseheads tomorrow afternoon at 4 pm at the Moncton Coliseum. Bourdon, a Shippagan native, acquired by Moncton from Val d’Or during the trading period broke his ankle on February 10th in a game against the Saint John Sea Dogs. He had just returned from the World Juniors in Vancouver where he played a major role in the Gold Medal victory by Team Canada. Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Ted Nolan said a final check with the Wildcats medical staff was being made Friday morning. “There’s a very strong possibility Luc will be in the line-up to start the series,” Nolan said. “The final decision will be made by Athletic Therapist Graham Black and the doctors but given his improvement over the past couple of weeks, it’s all but certain he’ll be ready to go.” “Luc is an elite athlete and was in great shape when the injury occurred,” said Black. “He’s been working hard to get back to game level condition for the past month. Given the nature of the break and ligament tear, he’s made a remarkable recovery.” For more information contact the Wildcats office at 382-5555 or log on to the website: www.moncton-wildcats.com. -30- Contact: Les Stoodley – 506-858-2231

The only one left is D Mac. But do you think they would carry an extra D man? I am not sure if they will give Bourdon a regular shift or not? It will be interesting to see what they do.

Why would he not be aloowed to play.. She doesn't think its fair... She says he shouldn't be allowed to play because he miss Round 1... So she thinks he should sit out to make the series FAIR! It puzzled me also... But when I asked her if she thinks last year Rimouski should of had to sit... Crosby, Pouliot and Roussin to make it fair for the moose... She magically disappeared offline!

So I figured hell why not listen to what she has to say... And I must say when she said that I almost fell out of my chair laughing at how idiotic it all sounded!

A big thumbs down to the Wildcats head staff for dropping the ball on the defenceman issue. How can you have D Mac who although has been very solid I'll give him that replaces Belanger and forces him into a healthy scratch. We are playing the mooseheads, an extremely physical team and need Belanger in there for his checking and fighting if need be.. D-Mac falls over in a strong wind aka his last fight. Im not saying he doesnt deserve to play but you gotta sit him and play Belanger in a series against a physical team...
Bad decision IMO

Bad decision IMO I have to agree with you on this one, I was shocked to read that Belanger would be the healthy scratch today. A bad decision that will be corrected as early as Game 2 though IMO.
