According to the Wildcats website... the Cats are going to be in Plaster Rock to play a pickup game this Saturday at the World Pond Hockey Championship... www.moncton-wildcats.com/press/20060213_en.phpThey face Halifax at home on Friday... then they face the Quebec Remparts at home on Sunday... and they're gonna jam this trip in between! I'm surprised RKI approved this trip... last year he wouldn't even let the players that were receiving Q awards go to the banquet during the first round of the playoffs so that they wouldn't "lose their focus" I hope they'll still put out a decent effort against Quebec on Sunday!!

Isn't that pushing it a bit? I could undersand if they were going to be playing non-contenders over the next week and had some rest in between their games, but they play a mad schedule over the preceeding week. Can't say that it's a smart thing to do.

This Saturday is also the backyard rink contest day......so maybe the players had choices what they could do.

It says they're also visiting the best backyard rinks contest winners so maybe they're just sending certain players to each event.

Could be only a few to each... but it's gotta include many of their regulars... Look at the autograph table lately at home games... Eagles + maybe an injured player or two. There's not a lot of extra bodies in the cupboard!

IMO, they're probably just going to be there for an hour or two and 5-10 players will be going. The rest will stay in Moncton for the backyard rink contest. Nothing too tiring. If they weren't taking part in these events, they would be having a practice that would be as hard as these activities.

I doubt the team will be "pressed" playing around and it's great PR.
It sounds to me that Nolan and Irving are trying to keep your guys loose. Which makes sense to me. This will be an incredibly long season for the Cats and a little distraction now and then can keep your players fresh.

Bbruins, so you see them often at Cosmo the club, or are you just saying the boys like to drink? I ask about the club because I just can't picture them there dancing...but who knows until you really know someone, right?

Is Cosmo even still open?
This has nothing to do with hockey anymore.
