So, has anyone heard what the "big thing" that the Cats are supposed to unveil today. Possibly a returning player.

I think it's mostly likely something about an event during the memorial such as a band or maybe just launching the official marketing campaign.

I'm just wondering if it would be a countdown clock or something like that at city hall. Wish I could attend but have to take my boy Skating.

Well at least I'm hoping its alot more than that. Its probable going to be a memorial cup mascot. Don't they usually have something like that other than your team mascots?

I'm not really paying attention to it more than that. I think we're at the point where it's safe to say we're not getting any players back and it's too late for any major upgrades on the coliseum. Knowing the Wildcats marketing strategies, it's probably the unveiling of a third mascott or something...

If its a mascot that is nothing big.... I think its going to be a big let down when they say something big. They should have left the word big out of it......... ;D

If they are unveiling a mascot... oh god is all I got to say. They'd probably try and turn the trophy into a mascot. I'm guessing they are just making announcements on what type of activities will be taking place leading up to and including the Memorial cup.

Well if they are announcing activities well now that sure would suck for something big. I can see this just being a big time let down... Hope the wind dies down if not there won't be many people there

If you look at the Memorial Cup schedule on the Cats site, there is a mention of an opening concert. Maybe they are announcing a good act for that concert. Maybe it is the Rolling Stones again. After all, they are doing the Super Bowl and the Memorial Cup is "almost" as big. ;D The way I see it, I wouldn't expect much for today. It's definitely not related to any player movement. It will be some sort of official launch of the Memorial Cup programme.

Alright, alright. Lets be realistic. Mr. Irving, obviosly, isn't afraid to spend money to be a success (Ted Nolan, New York trip, etc). The Eagles, the Stones, come on people. The Memorial Cup is big, but it is no Super Bowl. You don't see bands like that play the coliseum. May is to unpredictable weather to have them outside, especially on this short of notice, it is already Febuary. Maybe Bois Joli, or Rex Goudie from Canadian Idol, but definately not a superstar mega band.
